The Last Time Quinnipiac Played
- Quinnipiac came back from two, three-goal deficits and scored four-answered goals to defeat Cornell, 5-4, at Lynah Rink in Ithaca, New York.
- The win marked the first time since Nov. 6, 1999 in a 6-4 win against Mercyhurst that Quinnipiac staged a three-goal comeback.
- Connor Clifton (Matawan, New Jersey) had a big weekend for the Bobcats with one goal and two assists for three points to extend his point streak to six games. Not only did Clifton play a big role offensively, but he led the team with eight blocked shots, including four in each game of the weekend.
- Andrew Taverner (Edmonton, Alberta) had a huge game against Cornell with his first career four-point game. Taverner netted two goals and assisted on two more in his breakout performance, in addition to scoring the game-tying power play goal and assisting Tim Clifton's (Matawan, New Jersey) power play goal in the first period.
- Chase Priskie (Pembroke Pines, Florida) recorded his first career three-assist and three-point game on Saturday night, including assists on both the game-tying and game-winning goals.
- Tim Clifton added a pair of goals in his first weekend back for the Bobcats while Kevin McKernan (Millbury, Massachusetts) scored his first career game-winning goal against Colgate on Friday night.
- The Quinnipiac men's ice hockey team continues their climb up the national rankings as they check in to the latest USCHO.com Division I Men's Poll at No. 4, up one spot from No. 5 the previous week.
- The Bobcats also received three first-place votes, their most first place votes of the season, and picked up 849 points in the poll.
- The Bobcats were ranked No. 3 in the latest USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine College Hockey Poll in the sixth week of the poll.
- The Bobcats received five first-place votes, third most in the poll, on their way to receiving 425 points in the poll.
- Last week, the Bobcats were ranked No. 4 in the poll before sweeping Colgate and Cornell in a thrilling road weekend.
- Quinnipiac enters the weekend in the top spot in the PairWise Ranking.
- The PairWise Ranking is a system which attempts to mimic the method used by the NCAA Selection Committee to determine participants for the NCAA Division I men's hockey tournament. The PWR compares all teams by these criteria: record against common opponents, head-to-head competition, and the RPI.
- For each comparison won, a team receives one point. The final PWR ranking is based on the number of points (comparisons) won. Ties are settled by the RPI.

All-Time Against Harvard
- Quinnipiac owns a 9-11-4 record against Harvard in 24 meetings all-time.
- Quinnipiac's first ECAC Hockey game came against Harvard on Nov. 4, 2005 – a 5-2 at the Hartford Civic Center – currently the XL Center.
- Quinnipiac owns a 5-1-3 record at home against the Crimson, including a 3-1-3 record in seven games at the TD Bank Sports Center.
- Harvard won the last meeting between the two teams – a 5-2 decision at Herb Brooks Arena in Lake Place, New York at the 2015 ECAC Hockey Championship Semifinals.
- Quinnipiac and Harvard will play again on Jan. 9, 2016 at the "World's Most Famous Arena" – Madison Square Garden as part of a college hockey doubleheader at 7:30 p.m.
- Harvard enters the weekend with a record of 3-0-1 – all against ECAC Hockey opponents – and ranked No. 6 in the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine Poll and No. 7 in the USCHO.com Division I Poll.
- The Crimson opened the year with a weekend, home-and-home sweep of Dartmouth, winning 7-0 in Hanover, N.H. on Oct. 31 before picking up a 5-2 win at home on Nov. 1.
- Last weekend, Harvard tied Yale, 2-2 on Nov. 6, before defeating Brown, 5-2 on Nov. 7.
- Jimmy Vesey leads Harvard in goals (4) and points (8). Friday night's game will be the 100th of his career, in which he has compiled 60 goals and 46 assists for 106 points.
- Sean Malone has passed-out a team-leading five assists in the Crimson's first four games and heads a quartet of players with five points to date. Included in the list are Kyle Criscuolo (3-2), Ryan Donato (3-2) and Alexander Kerfoot (1-4).
- In goal, freshman Michael Lackey has received the last two starts, posting a 1-0-1 record with a 1.92 goals-against average and a .931 save percentage. Merrick Madsen enters the weekend with a record of 2-0-0 and a 1.00 GAA to go with a .956 save percentage.
All-Time Against Dartmouth
- Quinnipiac and Dartmouth have met 24 times with the Bobcats owning a 15-8-1 record in the all-time series.
- Dartmouth's 3-1 win in Hanover, New Hampshire on Feb. 28, 2015 snapped the Bobcats' six-game winning streak against the Big Green.
- Quinnipiac is 11-2-0 all-time on its home ice, with all but one game played at QU's TD Bank Sports Center. The Bobcats have won six consecutive games at High Point Solultions Arena with its last loss at home coming in the ECAC Hockey First Round Series Game 2 match-up on Mar. 6, 2010. Quinnipiac went on to win the series.
Scouting The Dartmouth Big Green
- Dartmouth enters the weekend with just one win through its first four games – with all three losses coming against ranked opponents. The Big Green opened with a pair of season-opening losses against Harvard – 7-0 and 5-2. Last weekend, Dartmouth rolled to a 5-2 win against Brown before falling to nationally-ranked Yale, 4-2.
- Troy Crema leads Dartmouth in assists (4) and points (5) while Jack Barre and Nick Bligh have both tallied a team-best three goals to date.
- Senior goalies Charles Grant and James Kruger have alternated starts this season. Grant is 0-2-0 with a 4.09 GAA and a .789 save percentage while Kruger is 1-1-0 with a 5.34 GAA and a .818 save percentage.
The Bobcats' 8-0 Record
- Quinnipiac's 8-0-0 record is currently the best start to a season since Quinnipiac joined the NCAA Division I ranks in 1998-99.
- Quinnipiac's all-time best start came in 1997-98 when the Bobcats opened the year at 10-0-0
- The Bobcats' current eight-game win streak marks the 13th time in Quinnipiac's all-time history that it has won eight straight games in a season. It is also the ninth time in Quinnipiac's Division I history – since 1998-99 – that the Bobcats have posted an eight-game win streak. Quinnipiac's nine-straight wins in 2013-14 are the Division I record.
- Through eight games, Quinnipiac has outscored its opponents 35-14, with four goals in seven of its eight games to date.
Special Teams
- Quinnipiac currently leads the nation in total power play goals (12) and power play goals per game (1.50).
- Quinnipiac entered Saturday night's game with a perfect 25-for-25 showing on the penalty kill heading into its showdown with Cornell before giving up three power play goals to the Big Red. Quinnipiac currently ranks eighth, nationally, on the penalty kill at 90.6% (29-for-32).
Goal Differential
- Quinnipiac is one of three teams, along with Boston College and Harvard, to post a goal margin of 2.50 or better per game. Quinnipiac's 2.62 goal margin follows BC's 3.33 and the Crimson's 3.25.

Michael Garteig
- Michael Garteig (Prince George, British Columbia) enters the weekend at 8-0-0 with a 1.75 goals-against average and a .928 save percentage. He also has two assists for the year.
- For his career, Garteig is 54-21-9 with a 1.96 GAA and a .915 save percentage in 5,160:45 minutes over 89 career games.
- Garteig currently leads all NCAA Division I goalies in wins (8), while ranking tied for third in shutouts (2) and 12th in GAA (1.75).
- Garteig is one of four players in NCAA Division I men's ice hockey to log 99% or higher of his team's total minutes in goal, of those teams with eight or more games played.
- Garteig record a career-best 41-save shutout of St. Cloud State on Oct. 25.
- Garteig was named the ECAC Hockey Goalie of the Week on Oct. 27.
- He was also named the ECAC Hockey Goalie of the Month for October.
- The senior goalie's 13th career shutout against Maine also made him the fifth goalie in Quinnipiac history to reach 50 career wins. He joins J.C. Wells (59), Jamie Holden (59), Bud Fisher (58) and Eric Hartzell (58).
- Garteig was named to the Mike Richter Award Watch List on Thursday, Oct. 8. The award is given annually to the top NCAA Division I goalie in the country.
- Garteig entered 2015-16 ranked 5th in career saves among active players (1,632); 1st in career wins among active players (46); 1st in career shutouts (11) among active players; 3rd in career goals-against (1.99) among active players.
- Travis St. Denis (Trail, British Columbia) enters the weekend with a four-game point streak in which he has accumulated five goals and one assist.
- Last weekend, St. Denis had an assist in a 3-2 win against Colgate and also scored in a 5-4 overtime win against Cornell.
- St. Denis entered last weekend having posted back-to-back two-goal performances in the Bobcats two-game sweep of St. Cloud State on Oct. 23-24.
- St. Denis leads Quinnipiac with seven goals, as well as a team-high four power-play goals.
- The senior forward enters the weekend with 45 goals and 41 assists for 86 points in 127 career games.
Connor Clifton
- Bobcats junior defenseman Connor Clifton (Matawan, New Jersey) has blown past his 2014-15 point totals (0-5), accumulating a goal and six assists for seven points in the first eight games of the year.
- Clifton enters the weekend with a team-best six-game point streak, which also stands as the longest of the year for the Bobcats.
- Clifton had an assist in a 3-2 win against Colgate on Friday, Nov. 13 before scoring the game-winner in overtime against Cornell in a 5-4 win in Ithaca, New York.
- Clifton also leads the Bobcats with a +8, while he has been to the penalty box just once in eight games.
- Clifton was chosen in the 5th Round of the 2013 NHL Draft by the Phoenix Coyotes.
- He is the first Quinnipiac freshman to join the Bobcats directly from the prestigious U.S. National Developmental Team.
Tim Clifton
- Bobcats junior Tim Clifton (Matawan, New Jersey) enters the weekend with a four-game goal streak.
- Clifton scored in both games of a season-opening series against Holy Cross before missing the next four games. He came back this past weekend and scored against Colgate and Cornell.
- Clifton and Travis St. Denis are the only two players in the Bobcats' line-up to score in four or more games this year.
- Clifton's four-game goal streak is the longest at Quinnipiac since Sam Anas scored a goal in five straight games from Feb. 21, 2015 through Mar. 14, 2015.
- For the year, Clifton has totaled four goals and an assist for five points. For his career, he has 16 goals and 16 assists for 32 points in 81 career games.
Sam Anas
- Bobcats All-American Sam Anas is tied with Travis St. Denis as the team's point leader, scoring four goals and assisting on six more for 10 points.
- Anas has tallied a point in seven of Quinnipiac's first eight games, highlighted by a two-goal, one-assist three-point night against Holy Cross and a two-assist outing against St. Cloud State.
- Anas enters the weekend with 49 goals and 43 assists for 92 points in 86 career games.
- 16 players in Quinnipiac history have scored 50 goals in a career, including 10 since Quinnipiac elevated to Division I status in 1998-99. The last Bobcat to reach 50 goals for his career was Kellen Jones in 2014, who totaled 53 in four years.
Chase Priskie
- Quickly making a name for himself, freshman defenseman Chase Priskie (Pembroke Pines, Florida) has passed out a team-leading eight assists, while also scoring once, for nine points through his first eight career games.
- Priskie opened the season with a point in his first six games before going scoreless in his next two outings.
- Priskie made up for it with a three-assist showing at Cornell in a 5-4 overtime win – including the assist on the game-tying and game-winning goals.
- The last freshman with three assists in a game was Sam Anas at Colgate on Nov. 1, 2013.
- The last Quinnipiac defenseman with three assists in a game was Zach Tolkinen against UMass on Nov. 30, 2013.
Andrew Taverner
- Sophomore Andrew Taverner (Edmonton, Alberta) had a career-night against Cornell, scoring twice and assisting on two more for a four-point showing in a 5-4 overtime win.
- Taverner had a hand in Quinnipiac's last three goals, pulling Quinnipiac within a goal in the second before scoring the game-tying goal with under two minutes to play in the period. He then set-up Connor Clifton with the game-winner in overtime.
