No. 7 Bobcats Knocked Out of ECAC Tournament

HAMDEN, Conn. — The Quinnipiac men's ice hockey team fell in Game 2 of its ECAC Men's Hockey Championship quarterfinal series matchup with Clarkson by a 4-3 final, eliminating the No. 7 Bobcats from the tournament.
Quinnipiac and Clarkson split the first two goals in the first 40 minutes, with Markus Vidicek finding twine at the 15:58 mark of the first.
The chaos unloaded in the third, as the Bobcats scored twice in 62 seconds courtesy of Braden Blace to give them a 3-1 advantage in the final frame.
Clarkson scored three in 2:01, including two short-handed tallies 38 seconds apart, to take the lead for good and advance to the semifinal round.

Quinnipiac will learn its NCAA Tournament fate on Sunday, March 22 at 3 p.m., on ESPNU as the NCAA Division I Men's Ice Hockey Tournament Bracket is unveiled.

Clarkson scored three in 2:01, including two short-handed tallies 38 seconds apart, to take the lead for good and advance to the semifinal round.
STATS AND NOTES
- Blace's two goals in 62 seconds are the second-fastest in Bobcat Division I playoff history.
- He is also the first Bobcat defenseman since 2022 (Griffin Mendel) with a multi-goal game and the fourth in Quinnipiac's Division I era to do it in a playoff game and the only instance in which those goals came consecutively.
- The loss dropped Quinnipiac to No. 10 in the NPI at the time of writing, inside of the NCAA Tournament bubble with a weekend of games to play.
