WHITNEY AVE., RIVALRY
- The next edition of the Battle of Whitney Ave., begins on Saturday night, as the Bobcats welcome Yale for its annual campus event at M&T Bank Arena.
- Yale took the opening matchup of the yearly series, winning by a 4-2 final at Ingalls for the Bulldogs' first win since Feb. 9, 2018. Quinnipiac is undefeated in all but one matchup since the two teams met in the 2013 National Championship.
CHASING HISTORY
- First year Ethan Wyttenbach is chasing elite company in both program and national status as the calendar turns to February. Currently sitting on 41 points, he leads the nation in that category and his 26 assists are one off the top in the country.
- In the last 10 seasons, three freshmen have led the country in points: Will Smith, Adam Fantilli and Kyle Connor. He also stands at 41 points, which is two off the top five in program history in points by a first year player.

PLUSES AND MINUSES
- Sophomore defenseman Elliott Groenewold currently leads the country at +31, five ahead of Michigan State's Charlie Stramel and six ahead of Michigan's Tyler Duke in the category.
- In the Division I era, Groenewold's rating is the best amongst any Bobcat skater, besting Zach Metsa's +30 in his first 28 contests in the 2021-22 game.
- Across the national leaderboard, only JT Compher (+35) and Kyle Connor (+33) had a better ratio in the same time span.
