No. 5 Quinnipiac Rolls Past Brown

HAMDEN, Conn. — The No. 5 Quinnipiac men's ice hockey program flew out of the gates and did not look back Friday night, rolling to a 9-1 win over Brown in front of 2,985 fans at M&T Bank Arena.
The Bobcats scored six in the first period, including the third and fourth goals 10 seconds apart to establish the advantage.
Antonin Verreault scored a pair in the period while Ethan Wyttenbach had a three-point frame. Mason Marcellus also added his 100th collegiate point in the first 20 minutes on the Bobcats' fifth goal of the night.
Quinnipiac added three more in the second courtesy of Connecticut Natives Andon Cerbone and Matthew McGroarty. Cerbone then assisted to Aaron Schwartz on a 2-on-0 breakaway in the final minute of the frame to make it 9-1.
STATS AND NOTES
The annual Battle of Whitney Ave., shifts to Hamden, where the Bobcats and Bulldogs will battle at M&T Bank Arena.
Both games are slated for 7 p.m. puck drops and can be seen live on ESPN+.

STATS AND NOTES
- Wyttenbach extended his points streak to nine games, the fifth-longest active streak in the country. He has 17 points over the nine games, including eight in the last three outings.
- He maintained his lead atop the national rankings, currently sitting with 44 total points on the season.
- 16 different skaters recorded a point, with five recording multiple points.
- The nine goals are the most in a game this season and the most by a Bobcat team since Jan. 12, 2024 when they put nine past Princeton.
- Six goals in the first period are also the most in a 20-minute frame since that Princeton outing as well.
- McGroarty scored his first goal of the season and second of his career.
- Anthony Cipollone recorded his first, multi-point outing of the season and his first since the 2023-24 campaign.
- Verreault recorded his second, multi-goal performance of the season.
- The nine-goal performance is the second of the calendar year, matching the output in a win over Harvard on Jan. 2.
