TROY, N.Y. — Markus Vidicek extended his goal streak to six games with a pair of tallies on the night and the No. 8 Quinnipiac men's ice hockey program knocked off RPI by a 5-1 scoreline on Friday night at the Houston Field House.
With the win, the Bobcats extended their winning streak to seven games and climbed into fifth in the ECAC standings, four points shy of first with one game until the holiday break.
Quinnipiac flew out of the gates, scoring all five in the first two periods. Victor Czerneckianair and Matthew Lansing both used deflections off RPI defenders to take a two-goal lead into the intermission.
Vidicek then scored the first two of the second period before Ethan Wyttenbach ripped one home from the slot to make it 5-0 for the visitors.
RPI was able to get one past Matej Marinov in the third, but the Slovakian netminder finished the night with 16 saves.
