SCHENECTADY, N.Y. — The No. 8 Quinnipiac men's ice hockey program was blanked for the first time this season, falling 4-0 to Union in the finale of the first half of the season on Saturday night at the M&T Bank Center.

The Garnet Chargers scored a pair of goals in each period, with a pair coming in the second off a major penalty assessed to Drew Hockley for hitting from behind.

Quinnipiac amassed 31 shots on net but were not able to beat Brayden Gillespie, who was in the net for the hosts.

Matej Marinov made 31 saves on 35 shots before he was relieved for Dylan Silverstein, who stopped all seven shots he faced.

STATS AND NOTES

Silverstein made his first appearance since Nov. 7, making seven saves in 14:12 of game action.
Marinov's 31 saves match a season-best for him.
The 42 shots on goal against are the most this season by a Bobcat opponent.
Markus Vidicek's 15 wins at the faceoff dot match his collegiate best.
Victor Czerneckianair also tied a season high, winning 13 faceoffs.

The Bobcats head for the holiday break standing at 12-4-2 and 4-2-0 (11 points) in ECAC Hockey action. They will return for a pair of contests to begin 2026, hosting Harvard and Dartmouth at M&T Bank Arena.
