CAPTAIN CZERNECKIANAIR
- Playing hockey in his home state. Southington native Victor Czerneckianair is the captain for the 2025-26 Quinnipiac men's ice hockey program, head coach Rand Pecknold announced in August.
- One of three holdovers from the 2023 National Championship team, the center has played in seven NCAA Tournament games, scoring twice in QU's 2024 Regional Semifinal game with Wisconsin, adding the overtime game winner.
- He posted a career-best 56.7 percent win rate at the faceoff dot in 2024-25 and figures to be a big part of that strategy this year.
BLOCKED!
- First year defenseman Elliott Groenewold was a stalwart in the Bobcat defensive core during the 2024-25 campaign, posting 69 total blocked shots across 38 games.
- He recorded a block in 27 consecutive games, the longest streak by anyone last season and the eighth-longest by anyone since the 2019-20 season.
KINGS FROM THE NORTH
- A new era has dawned in NCAA Hockey, as players from the Canadian Hockey League will enter the college ranks for the first time and the Bobcats have taken in six players from the major junior ranks.
- Brady Schultz, Markus Vidicek, Antonin Verreault and Nate Tivey join from the Quebec Major Junior league, while Logan McCutcheon and Ben Riche come from the Western Hockey League.
STRIVED FOR FIVE
- Quinnipiac earned its fifth consecutive ECAC regular season title and ninth overall Cleary Cup title, with every trophy coming since the 2012-13 campaign.
- They are the first team in league history to win five consecutive trophies and the first NCAA Division I men's hockey team to win five consecutive regular season titles in the same league and the second to do it overall, with Minnesota State winning six across the WCHA and CCHA.
MODEL OF CONSISTENCY
- The Bobcats have been one of the most consistent programs in Division I since joining the NCAA's top rank in the 1999-00 season. Of their 26 seasons, they have posted 21 seasons of 20 wins or more.
- Quinnipiac has posted 30 wins the previous two seasons and has only had two, sub-20 win seasons since the 2011-12 campaign.
- Rand Pecknold's club also owns the longest active NCAA Tournament appearance streak at six and is one of three teams to have made at least eight of the last 10 tournaments.
