No. 10 Bobcats Battle Back to Tie with No. 7 Maine
10/17/2025 11:03:00 PM | Men's Ice Hockey
HAMDEN, Conn. — The No. 10 Quinnipiac men's ice hockey program fell down by three goals on a pair of different occasions, but battled back the second time, forcing a 4-4 tie before winning the shootout in front of a sold out M&T Bank Arena on Friday night to kick off Bobcat Weekend.
The Bobcats rallied with a goal in the second and then a pair of late tallies 46 seconds apart in the third, both with the Bobcat net empty to force the overtime session.
Maine scored the game's first three goals, including the latter two 58 seconds apart to punctuate the first 20 minutes.
Quinnipiac battled back, starting with Ethan Wyttenbach scoring in his third consecutive game to make it 3-1 just 20 seconds into the period.
After Maine took a 4-1 advantage, Markus Vidicek took advantage of a turnover created by Andon Cerbone, who stole the puck off a Maine skater and fed the first-year forward in front for him to finish it off.
11 different Bobcats recorded points, with four goalscorers and seven players serving assists.
STATS AND NOTES
Same two teams on Saturday night at M&T Bank Arena, with puck drop slated for 4 p.m. on ESPN+.
