Marinov Pitches Shutout, Four Bobcats Score in Ranked Win

HAMDEN, Conn. — Powered by balanced scoring and a shutout from Matej Marinov, the No. 10 Quinnipiac men's ice hockey program knocked off No. 7 Maine by a 4-0 scoreline on Saturday afternoon in front of a sold out M&T Bank Arena.
Will Gilson started the scoring for Quinnipiac, ripping home a shot from the point on the power play to earn the early advantage.
The lone even strength goal for the Bobcats came in the second, as Mason Marcellus scored a circus wraparound goal to double the Quinnipiac advantage.
Two more goals on the power play in the third iced the win away, as Jeremy Wilmer and Ethan Wyttenbach both beat the Maine netminder to give the Bobcats a 4-0 win.
Matej Marinov stopped all 18 shots on his frame, recording his fifth career shutout.

The Bobcats begin a three-game road trip on Tuesday, taking on Holy Cross on the road before playing Merrimack and New Hampshire away from Hamden.
