TWO TALLIES FOR TT
- Grad student and captain Travis Treloar recorded his first multi-goal game as a Bobcat, as Quinnipiac knocked off Holy Cross by a 3-0 final in Worcester, Mass., on Nov. 2.
- After Elliott Groenewold started the scoring with his first collegiate goal, Treloar potted a shot from right in front over the glove side of the Holy Cross netminder in the second period before sending home a long empty-net tally in the third to ice the victory.
- The former Ohio State forward has six total games of two or more goals to his name, with the previous five coming in his first three seasons with the Buckeyes.
Mr. 1100
- Saturday night was Rand Pecknold's 1100th game behind the bench for the Bobcats as they take on Holy Cross. In his 31st season with the squad, he has amassed 645 wins, the most by any active Division I coach in the country.
- He will be one of four active coaches, joining Rick Gotkin, Frank Serratore and Bob Daniels, and one of 14 coaches all-time to reach the mark.
SCORE FOUR AND SEVEN YEARS AGO
- First year Tyler Borgula scored in four consecutive games, dating from to Oct. 18 to Oct. 26 against Maine, matching the longest active streak in NCAA Division I Men's Hockey.
- It is also the longest streak by a Bobcats since 2020-21, when Ethan de Jong scored five times from Dec. 19 to Dec. 27. The Livonia, MIch., native currently stands tied for third amongst first year players this season, behind ECAC players Ben Muthersbaugh (Union) and Rainers Rullers (Rensselaer).
TAKE IT TO THE BANK
- The Bobcats have been dominant on home ice since the return of fans to the arena in 2021-22, sitting as the only team in the country to be Top 3 nationally in home winning percentage.
- Quinnipiac is 50-6-2 at The Bank since the start of the 2021-22 campaign and have won 15 of their last 17 games on home ice.
- They had also gone 40 consecutive games without a home regulation loss before Saturday night's defeat to New Hampshire, with the previous coming on Feb. 25, 2022 to Cornell.
WHERE THERE'S A WILM, THERE'S A WAY
- Jeremy Wilmer tallied the first and third goals of the night, helping the No. 8 Bobcats to a 3-2 victory over Penn State on Saturday night in the season opener.
- It was the Rockville Centre native's first multi-goal game since the 2022-23 season and just the second of his career.
- He also stands as one of the nation's most prolific passers, averaging 0.73 assists per game over his 80 games played. That mark is fourth nationally amongst all active players.
JACK OF ALL TRADES
- After four seasons with Bill Riga and Holy Cross, Jack Ricketts joins the Bobcats for his fifth season and enters the 2024-25 campaign as the nation's leading goalscorer.
- With 48 goals over his collegiate career, he stands three ahead of Denver's Jack Devine and three ahead of three others for the nation's top spot.
- He has scored 35 of those in his last two seasons, including 19 a season ago, which helped him land on the All-Atlantic Hockey Second Team.
