Treloar scores a pair, Silverstein records a collegiate shutout
WORCESTER, Mass. — The No. 13/14 Quinnipiac men's ice hockey program posted a shutout victory on Saturday night, knocking off Holy Cross 3-0 on the road to get back to 3-3 on the season.
Dylan Silverstein posted his first collegiate shutout, stopping all 25 shots on his net, while Travis Treloar potted a pair of goals and Elliott Groenewold scored his first collegiate marker.
After a scramble in front, Groenewold got the Bobcats on the board with a slapshot from just outside the right circle that went past scrambling Crusader defenders in net.
Treloar was responsible from the final two, tapping a puck home in front after a great feed from Victor Czerneckianair from behind the net. He then added an empty-net tally with just under 90 seconds to go.
Silverstein made a couple of key stops during the final 40 minutes, recording 20 of his 25 saves during those two frames.
STATS AND NOTES
The Bobcats open ECAC play next weekend, taking on Dartmouth and Harvard at M&T Bank Arena. Friday night's contest with the Big Green and Saturday's clash with the Crimson are both slated for 7 p.m., and can be seen live on ESPN+.
