No. 4 QU Clinches Belpot In Shootout

Game officially finishes as a tie with No. 19 UMass
BELFAST, Northern Ireland — After a 65-minute deadlock between No. 4 Quinnipiac and No. 17 UMass, Cristophe Tellier and Yaniv Perets clinched the 2022 Belpot Trophy for the Bobcats, with Tellier scoring the lone goal in the shootout and Perets denying all three Minutemen attempts.
Ethan de Jong started the scoring, when a beautiful passing sequence was capped off by his backhanded effort in front.
After a scoreless second, UMass tied it on a breakaway 5:12 into the period to knot it up. It was tied until 4:14 was left on the clock and Skyler Brind'Amour tapped home a power-play effort that gave the Bobcats the lead once again.
UMass would tie it 31 seconds later off a rebound to finish off the scoring.
The Bobcats power play was dangerous all night, going 2-for-3 and generating five shots. In addition to his three saves in the shootout, Perets made 21 stops on the night.
STATS AND NOTES
The Bobcats return home for the first of two ECAC weekends at M&T Bank Arena, hosting Clarkson and St. Lawrence on Dec. 2 and 3.
Both games are slated for 7 p.m., and can be seen live on ESPN+.

STATS AND NOTES
- It is the first Friendship Four Championship for the Bobcats in their second appearance. They advance to the final in 2016.
- TJ Friedmann went 11-3 on faceoffs to aid the Bobcats' effort. He went 22-7 on the weekend and is 43-18 over his last four contests from the dot.
- Collin Graf earned the tournament's Most Valuable Player honors, dishing an assist on both goals today and finishing with three for the tournament. He has five assists over his last three games and 10 for the season.
- Metsa recorded his first multi-assist game of the campaign and his third multi-point performance of 2022-23. He has eight assists on the year and 11 total points.
