Bobcats take on No. 6/6 Clarkson, St. Lawrence
HAMDEN, Conn. - The No. 10 Quinnipiac women's ice hockey team hits the road to take on No. 6/6 Clarkson and St. Lawrence in the North Country. The Bobcats are coming off a 2-0 weekend after downing Union and RPI.

Bobcats' Last Time Out
Quinnipiac hosted the Union Dutchwomen on Friday, Feb. 7 and won, 6-2. Five different Bobcats scored in the win, including first-years Sadie Peart and Kate Reilly, juniors Taylor Girard and Taylor House and senior Kati Tabin. House scored two goals and had an assist to lead the team with three points. Quinnipiac posted a season-high six goals against Union. Senior Abbie Ives made 17 saves and recorded her 13th win of the year. Quinnipiac outshot Union, 46-19, which was two away from tying the team's season-high in shots.
On Saturday, Feb. 8, Quinnipiac defeated the RPI Engineers, 5-1. Junior Laura Lundblad led the team with her first-career hat trick. Peart tallied two points of her own with a goal and an assist in the win. Quinnipiac outshot RPI, 37-18, and Ives had 17 saves in her 14th win of the season. The team moved to 17-10-3 overall and 9-7-2 in ECAC play after the weekend sweep.
Back in the Top Ten
Quinnipiac is back in the nation's top ten in the USCHO's Poll coming in at No. 10. The Bobcats tied with Harvard with seven votes.
Scouting No. 6/6 Clarkson
The Golden Knights sit in third in the ECAC standings with a 11-3-4 conference record. Clarkson is coming off a weekend sweep of their own after shutting out Brown and Yale. Elizabeth Giguere leads the Golden Knights with 54 points this season on 27 goals and 27 assists. The junior forward is closing in on 200 career points with 198 through 111 games played.
Marie-Pier Coulombe has played in 27 games in the net for the Golden Knights. She has recorded a .948 save percentage, a 1.19 goals against average and an 18-4-5 overall record.
Last Time against the Golden Knights
Quinnipiac hosted Clarkson back on Nov. 23 and tied 2-2. Reilly and sophomore Lexie Adzija both scored for the Bobcats. The teams were close to even on shots – Clarkson held the advantage with 28 shots on goal to Quinnipiac's 26. Clarkson was ranked No. 5/5 at the time.
Scouting St. Lawrence
The Saints hold an 11-12-7 record overall with a 6-8-4 ECAC record. St. Lawrence holds the eighth position in the ECAC standings. Kayla Vespa leads the Saints with 31 points on 11 goals and 20 assists. Lucy Morgan has played in 24 games in the net recording a .938 save percentage and 1.52 goals against average. The Saints are coming off an 0-1-1 weekend against Yale and Brown. The Saints were shutout by the Bulldogs, 3-0, and tied Brown, 1-1.
Last Time against the Saints
Quinnipiac shutout St. Lawrence at home, 5-0, back on Nov. 22. Reilly and senior Sarah-Eve Coutu-Godbout scored in the first period to take a 2-0 lead for Quinnipiac. Adzija and Peart both scored empty-net goals in the third period, followed by a goal from senior Kenzie Prater to seal the 5-0 win.
Lundblad with the Hatty
The Ada, Michigan native scored her first career hat trick against RPI on Saturday, Feb. 8. She tallied the game-winning goal in the second period on an unassisted break-away. She later netted the team's fourth and fifth goal of the day from junior Brooke Bonsteel (2a) and Peart. Lundblad earned the ECAC Player of the Week award for her five-weekend points.
Peart on a Roll
Sadie Peart completed the weekend of play with three points on two goals and one assist. She is currently on a three-game points streak and leads all Quinnipiac first years with 17 points on nine goals and eight assists. Peart is ranked eighth in the conference for freshmen scoring.
Bonsteel-Lundblad Linking
The duo of Brooke Bonsteel and Laura Lundblad have recorded 19 points combined through the last eigth games. Bonsteel is fourth on the team in scoring with 16 points on five goals and 11 assists. Lundblad has seven goals and four assists for 11 points on the season and currently has a six-game point streak. Bonsteel recorded assists on two of Lundblad's three goals against RPI.
Can't Stop, Won't Stop
The Girard-Adzija-House line was unstoppable this past weekend. In the team's 6-2 win vs Union, the line had seven points through the first two periods. Girard is on six-game point streak with 14 points this season on four goals and 10 assists. Adzija leads the team with 27 points on 11 goals and 16 assists. House picked up four points through the team's two wins last weekend and has 12 points on seven goals and five assists.
Cassandra Turner Nears 100 Wins
Head coach Cass Turner earned her 96th career win as a head coach. She needs just four more wins to reach her 100th.
Strong Starts Lead to Strong Finishes
The Bobcats are 14-0 this season when they score the first goal of any game. If Quinnipiac leads going into the third period, the team is 12-0 this season.
Non-Conference, Non-Stop
Quinnipiac completed the final non-conference games of the season after a two-game road series with No. 5/5 Ohio State Jan. 24-25. The Bobcats went 7-3-1 against non-conference opponents in 2019-20. The team outscored non-ECAC opponents 35-17 this season.
Dominant Defensive Core
Quinnipiac's defensive core has allowed 51 goals this season, averaging 1.70 goals against per game, which is ranked seventh in the country. Senior Kenzie Prater leads the team with 45 blocks, followed by Reilly with 37.
