Bobcats down Golden Knights in 2-1 battle
POTSDAM, N.Y. – The No. 10 Quinnipiac women's ice hockey team defeated No. 6/6 Clarkson on Friday night, 2-1, on the road. The Bobcats have won five straight games, outscoring opponents 19-6 during that span.
Senior Sarah-Eve Coutu-Godbout scored the game-winning goal in the second period, and junior Grace Markey scored her third goal of the season. Senior netminder Abbie Ives recorded 22 saves.
The Bobcats earned the team's first win at Clarkson since November 2017. Quinnipiac limited Clarkson to just 23 shots on net in tonight's win and gave Clarkson their fifth loss of the year. This is the team's 18th win of the season and head coach Cassandra Turner's 97th win of her career.

SCORING SUMMARY
- (6:15, 2nd period, EV) – Quinnipiac 1, Clarkson 0: Junior Laura Lundblad recovered the puck in the offensive zone off a Clarkson turnover. She then found junior Grace Markey streaking into the crease. Markey shot first time past Clarkson's Marie-Pier Coulombe.
- (6:38, 2nd period, EV) – Quinnipiac 1, Clarkson 1: The Golden Knights came back and tied the game at 1-1. Elizabeth Giguere skated to the back door and scored from Brooke McQuigge and Emily Wisnewski to tie the game.
- (11:31, 2nd period, EV) – Quinnipiac 2, Clarkson 1: Markey skated with the puck behind the net and dished it to senior Sarah-Eve Coutu-Godbout. Coutu-Godbout slid the puck into the bottom slot past Coulombe on the right side to give Quinnipiac a 2-1 lead.
- Markey scored her third goal of the season in the second period. She now has 12 points this year, which is a career-high. Markey also tallied an assist for two points on the night.
- Coutu-Godbout tallied her 13th goal of the season to lead the team. She now has 20 points through 30 games. Her game-winner against Clarkson was her third game-winning goal of the season.
- First-year Sadie Peart and Lundblad added helpers in the 2-1 win. Peart now has nine assists this season and 18 points. Lundblad tallied her sixth assist of the year and is on a seven-game points streak.
- Sophomore Lexie Adzija won 15 of 26 faceoffs.
- Ives recorded her fifth win in a row and 15th of the year, which is a season-high in wins.
- The Bobcats were perfect on the penalty kill and did not allow Clarkson a power play shot.
- Quinnipiac outshot Clarkson, 26-23.
- The Bobcats will finish the last regular season road trip of the year at St. Lawrence on Saturday, Feb. 15 at 3 p.m.
