Frank Breaks Single-Season Save Record, No. 7 Bobcats Advance to Regional Final

MADISON, Wis. – The No. 7 Quinnipiac women's ice hockey team shut out Franklin Pierce 4-0 on Thursday night to advance to the NCAA Regional Finals.
With 4:10 remaining in the second period, Emerson Jarvis opened the scoring with her 17th goal of the season and fourth of the postseason.
Just minutes later, the Bobcats struck again when Bryn Prier deflected a shot from Kahlen Lamarche for Quinnipiac's second goal of the night.
Peyton Cormier extended the lead to 3-0 midway through the third with her fifth collegiate goal off a feed from Ella Johnson.
Laurence Frenette sealed the victory later in the frame, recording her sixth goal of the season.
Felicia Frank stopped all 29 shots to earn her 29th win of the season.
The sophomore also broke Quinnipiac's single-season saves record that had stood for 24 years. Frank currently has 990 saves, surpassing Mel Courtemanche's previous mark of 986 set during the 2001-02 season.
The Bobcats will face No. 2 Wisconsin on Saturday, Mar. 14. It will mark the first postseason meeting between the two programs.
