HAMDEN, Conn. – The Quinnipiac men's ice hockey team is back on the road this weekend to kick off a stretch of five games away from Frank Perrotti Jr. Arena beginning Friday against St. Lawrence at SUNY Canton before facing No. 7/8 Clarkson at Cheel Arena Saturday night.
Last Time Out
Quinnipiac extended its winning streak to five games with back-to-back dominating wins over then-No. 16/15 Harvard, 6-1, and Dartmouth, 5-1. Keith Petruzzelli continued to lead the Bobcats between the pipes as he allowed just one goal in each game while Odeen Tufto and Ethan de Jong each recorded five points on the weekend.
Scouting St. Lawrence
St. Lawrence is struggling at the midway point of the 2019-20 season as they sport a 3-15-3 overall record and 1-8-0 mark in ECAC Hockey play. The Saints are winless in their last 11 games and have lost three straight games. Last weekend, St. Lawrence fell in overtime against Union before getting shutout by Rensselaer, 3-0. Sophomore Zach Risteau has been one of the bright spots for the Saints with seven goals and 14 assists for 21 points while Keenan Suthers and Ryan Garvey each have five goals. Daniel Mannella and Emil Zetterquist each have a .911 save percentage while Zetterquist leads the team with a 2.77 GAA.
All-Time vs. St. Lawrence
Quinnipiac evened up its all-time series with St. Lawrence at 15-15-4 by sweeping the Saints with a pair of 7-2 victories over the Saints. The Bobcats have won six straight games against the Saints and are 6-2-1 over the past three seasons.
Scouting Clarkson
Clarkson comes into the weekend ranked No. 7/8 in the national polls and own a 13-4-2 record with a 7-2-0 mark in ECAC Hockey. The Golden Knights are tied with Cornell for first in ECAC Hockey. Clarkson's six-game unbeaten streak came to an end last Friday night with a 3-1 loss to Rensselaer before bouncing back with a 2-0 shutout of Union. Devin Brosseau is first in ECAC Hockey with 23 points and is first for Clarkson with 16 assists while his seven goals are tied for second on the team. Haralds Egle leads the Golden Knights with eight goals and is second with 13 assists and 21 points while Josh Dune has seven goals. Goaltender Frank Marotte transferred to Clarkson and has dominated the pipes with a 1.67 GAA and .940 save percentage. The Golden Knights have been stellar on special teams at 23.4 percent and the penalty kill is equally as good at 91.2 percent.

The Bobcats come into the weekend with a 16-12-3 record against the Golden Knights as they prepare to meet for the 32nd time in program history, Quinnipiac and Clarkson have split the season series in each of the last six seasons.
Weekly Awards
Quinnipiac picked up two weekly awards from ECAC Hockey this week for the first time as Odeen Tufto was named the player of the week while Ethan Leyh was named the rookie of the week. Tufto's player of the week honor was the fourth of his career while Leyh's was the first of his career.
Rand's Winning Ways
Head coach Rand Pecknold continues to approach milestone wins in his career. In addition to having 520 wins to rank 13th all-time among Division I Men's Hockey coaches, he is just 7 wins from passing former men's and women's tennis head coach Mike Quitko for the most wins by a coach in Quinnipiac Athletics history. Pecknold and Quitko are the only two Quinnipiac coaches to record 500 wins with Quinnipiac programs.
Odeen Oh My
Odeen Tufto extended his streak of multiple point games to four games after a five-point weekend against Harvard and Dartmouth. Tufto recorded a season-high three points behind a goal and two assists Friday night against the Clarkson before assisting a pair of goals against Dartmouth the following night. Tufto has nine points in his last four games while his seven multi-point games and six multi-assist games are the most on the team.
Young de Jong
Ethan de Jong tied Tufto for the team-lead last weekend with five points in one of his best weekends of the season. de Jong scored a goal and added two assists Friday night before adding a goal and an assist to give him points in three of his last four games. His three-point game Friday night tied his career-high from Oct. 27 last season against AIC.
High Fives
Tufto and de Jong tied for the ECAC Hockey and national lead last weekend with five points each while Tufto's four assists were the most in the nation. Tufto also won a league-best 33 assists while de Jong registered the most power-play goals with two and power-play points with four.
Rocket Launcher
Wyatt Bongiovanni had an equally impressive weekend as he tied for the league and national lead with three goals in addition to an assist for four points. Bongiovanni extended his goal streak to four games, tied for his longest goal streak of the season. Bongiovanni also leads all of ECAC Hockey with 11 goals and is tied for 16th in the nation.
