Bobcats, Tigers face-off Tuesday night at Hobey Baker
HAMDEN, Conn. - The Quinnipiac women's hockey team is set to open ECAC Hockey play against #6 Princeton on the road Tuesday, Oct. 29. Puck drop is set for 6 p.m., in Princeton, N.J., at Hobey Baker Rink. The Bobcats will play its third game out of five over the course of a week.

GAME NOTES
Last Time Out
Quinnipiac hosted the Sacred Heart Pioneers for a two-game series Oct. 25-26. The Bobcats shut out the Pioneers in both games, scoring 11 goals to Sacred Heart's zero.
On Friday, four Bobcats recorded their first career goals. Senior Allison Roethke got the scoring started in the second period. Junior Renee Saltness followed, scoring her first career goal. Freshmen Kenzie Hauswirth and Kate Reilly both scored their first goals. Hauswirth added a second and senior Sarah-Eve Coutu-Godbout scored her second of the season for good measure in the 6-0 win.
In the second game of the weekend, the Bobcats came out on top, 5-0. Junior Taylor House led the way with two goals, along with senior Kati Tabin (first of the year), junior Lexie Adzija and freshman Sadie Peart scoring once each.
Scouting Princeton
The #6 Princeton Tigers opened the 2019-20 on Oct. 25-26 with two games against Syracuse. The Tigers won both games, 3-1 and 3-0. Senior Carly Bullock led the team with four goals through the first two games. In the net for the Tigers, Steph Neatby and Rachel McQuigge split the weekend. Neatby recorded the shutout win with 28 saves, and McQuibbe allowed one goal with 22 saves.
All-Time Against the Pioneers
Quinnipiac holds a 15-17-4 record against Princeton all-time. The Tigers controlled last year's series, winning both games. The Bobcats' last win against the Tiger came in 2017 with a 3-1 win.
Angers At Last
Redshirt freshman Logan Angers made her first career start in the net for the Bobcats on Friday night. She tallied her first shutout in the 6-0 win and notched another shutout in her second start the following night. Angers is the only netminder in Quinnipiac program history to record back-to-back shutouts in the first two career starts.
Immediate Impact
The Quinnipiac freshmen class has quickly and positively impacted the team on the ice to start the 2019-20 season. Freshman Kate Reilly is ranked second on the team in points with one goal and four assists four five points. On the power play, Reilly has scored one goal and two assists, which is ranked third in the ECAC. Kenzie Hauswirth tallied two goals against Sacred Heart in a 6-0 win.
Bobcats' Special Teams
Quinnipiac has converted six goals on the power play out of 23 attempts (26.1%), which is the third-best conversion percentage out of the ECAC teams.
Returning Numbers
The Bobcats lost five seniors in 2019, but will return 15 letter-winners from last season. Of the top ten scorers from 2018-19, six will return for the Bobcats, including two defensemen, Kati Tabin and Zoe Boyd. In the net, Abbie Ives returns for her senior campaign after recording a .924 save percentage and 1.89 GAA last year. Ives' 1.73 career GAA is ranked fifth in the program's all-time individual career records list.
Leading the Charge
The captains for the Bobcats have been named ahead of the 2019-20 season. Wearing the "C" will be seniors Kenzie Prater and Kati Tabin. The alternate captains will be senior Abbie Ives and junior Olivia Konigson.
Schedule Breakdown
The Bobcats have 34 games slated for the 2019-20 season. Quinnipiac will face six non-conference teams including Providence, Maine, Sacred Heart, Minnesota Duluth, Merrimack and Ohio State. Of the non-conference teams, Minnesota Duluth and Ohio State were ranked in the first poll of the season at #10 and #9, respectively.
Tabin's Summer
Senior defenseman Kati Tabin was named to the BFL National Women's Development Team for Team Canada's Summer Showcase. The camp took place in Calgary at the Markin MacPhail Centre at WinSport's Canada Olympic Park from Aug. 2-11. Eighty-nine of the Canada's top under-18 and development team talents were selected. Tabin was also invited back to camp for Hockey Canada's National Women's Team Fall Festival for the second year in a row. The camp took place in Liverpool, N.S., from Sept. 9-15, after the Summer Showcase.
