Women's Hockey Drops First ECAC Game to #5/6 Princeton, 4-2

PRINCETON, N.J. – The Quinnipiac women's ice hockey team was edged by the #5/6 Princeton Tigers on Tuesday night. The first two periods proved to be a battle between the two teams, ending in a 1-1 tie, but the Tigers came out on top after scoring three goals in the third period. Senior Kenzie Prater and junior Brooke Bonsteel scored for the Bobcats.

- (13:44, 1st period, PP) – Quinnipiac 0, Princeton 1: Princeton's Maggie Connors got the scoring started in the first period for the Tigers. Connors was assisted by Kayla Fillier and Sarah Fillier.
- (7:59, 2nd period, EV) Quinnipiac 1, Princeton 1: Junior Taylor Girard stole the puck back into the Bobcats' possession from a Princeton defenseman and passed to senior Kenzie Prater above the left circle. Prater hit a slap shot and scored to tie the game in the second period.
- (1:18, 3rd period, PP) Quinnipiac 1, Princeton 2: The Tigers went on the power play to open the third period. Sarah Fillier scored and was assisted by Connors.
- (8:25, 3rd period, EV) Quinnipiac 1, Princeton 3: Fillier scored her second of the game off a back-handed shot, skating to the right side of the goal. Annie McDonald and Claire Thompson tallied assists on the play.
- (12:29, 3rd period, EV) Quinnipiac 1, Princeton 4: McDonald scored her second point of the game with the third goal of the period.
- (18:47, 3rd period, EX) Quinnipiac 2, Princeton 4: Junior Brooke Bonsteel scored as the Bobcats skated with an extra attacker late in the third period. Freshman Kenzie Hauswirth and senior Sarah-Eve Coutu-Godbout recorded assists on the goal.
- Prater scored her first goal of the season and now has five points this year on one goal and four assists.
- Bonsteel also scored her first goal of the season with just over one minute remaining in the game. The junior now was four points on one goal and three assists this season.
- Senior Abbie Ives recorded a season-high 28 saves between the pipes.
- The Bobcats went 0-5 on the power play, and the Tigers went 2-4.
- Quinnipiac out shot Princeton 38 to 32.
- Quinnipiac will play #3 Cornell and Colgate this weekend on the road. The Bobcats and the Big Red will play first on Friday, Nov. 1 at 6 p.m., in Ithaca, N.Y.
