The Quinnipiac men's ice hockey team's month-long road trip continues with a pair of ECAC Hockey matchups, first at Colgate on Friday, Jan. 5, 2018 at 7 p.m. at the Class of 1965 Arena followed by a matchup against Cornell on Saturday, Jan. 6 at Lynah Rink in Ithaca, N.Y.

WEEKEND PREVIEW
ALL-TIME VS. COLGATE
• Quinnipiac and Colgate have faced each other 36 times with the Bobcats holding a 20-14-2 advantage in the all-time series.
• Quinnipiac lost to Colgate earlier this season, on Nov. 4, 2017, snapping the Bobcats' six-game winning streak against the Raiders dating back to 2014.
• Quinnipiac is 9-7-1 all-time on Colgate's home ice, including a 7-3 decision in the Bobcats' first game at the Class of 1965 Arena.
• With that win, Quinnipiac won it's fifth-straight game in Hamilton, N.Y.
SCOUTING THE RAIDERS
• Colgate hosts Quinnipiac with a record of 8-6-4 overall including a 4-1-1 record in ECAC Hockey play and is ranked No. 17 nationally.

The Raiders will be without one of the nation's top goalies when Quinnipiac comes to town as Point is currently competing with Team USA at the World Juniors Championships.

• Quinnipiac and Cornell have faced each other 38 times with the Bobcats hosting a 16-19-3 record against the Big Red, all-time.
• Cornell took a 2-1 win in Hamden on Nov. 3, 2017.

SCOUTING THE BIG RED
• Cornell enters the weekend ranked fifth nationally and hold an 11-2 record including a 5-1 mark in ECAC Hockey play.
• Trevor Yates leads Cornell in goals (10) and points (17) while Jeff Malott checks in with a team-high nine assists.
• In goal, Matthew Galajda has logged the most minutes in net for Cornell and posts an 8-2-0 record with a 2.10 GAA and a .909 save percentage.
• Hayden Stewart has started the last two games for Cornell and has allowed two goals on 50 shots in 120 minutes for a .962 save percentage and a 1.00 GAA in that span.

PILING UP THE HARDWARE
• Andrew Shortridge had an incredible weekend in which he garnered NCAA Men's Ice Hockey First Star of the Week and ECAC Hockey Goalie of the Week honors.
• Shortridge posted a shutout in in the Bobcats' 5-0 victory against Brown on Friday, Nov. 17. The second-year Bobcat followed with another shutout in Quinnipiac's 3-0 win over rival Yale on Saturday, Nov. 18.
• Shortridge is the first goalie in the nation to post back-to-back shutouts in a weekend series this season.
• Shortridge was also the first Quinnipiac goalie to record back-to-back shutouts since Michael Garteig against Yale on Dec. 4, 2015 and Brown on Dec. 5, 2015.
• With a 21-save shutout against UConn, Shortridge recorded his fourth shutout of the season and also became the seventh goalie in program history to record five shutouts for his career.
IN THE BOOKS
• Landon Smith (Greenwood Village, Colorado) had a career-high four points (three goals, one assist) in the Bobcats' 5-0 win against Brown on Friday, Nov. 17, while his three goals gave him his third hat trick of his career.
• Smith's four goals in eight ECAC Hockey games leads Quinnipiac.
• Smith's hat trick was the 31st in Quinnipiac NCAA Division I era.
• Smith's feat made him one of two players, along with Brandon Wong, to record a hat trick against the same team twice in his career; Smith's hat trick was his second against Brown after he recorded one against the Bears on Jan. 30, 2015; Wong had three against Union in his career.
• Wong is the Quinnipiac Division I leader with four career hat tricks while Smith's three-goal night tied Ben Nelson for second with three hat tricks.
• Landon Smith became the 39th player all-time and the 24th in Quinnipiac's Division I era to reach 100 career points with a two-point weekend against Northeastern.
• Smith is one of 13 active players in NCAA Division I hockey with 100 career points while his 108 career points rank fifth, his 43 career goals rank tied for ninth and his 65 career assists rank tied for seventh.
THE CHASE IS ON
• Junior Captain Chase Priskie (Pembroke Pines, Florida) checks-in with five goals and eight assists for 13 points this season.
• Priskie leads Quinnipiac in scoring in ECAC Hockey games to date, logging eight points in nine games on the strength of three goals and five assists.
• Priskie also leads the team in power play goals (3) and power play points (6) for the year.
• Priskie also leads the team in goals-per-shots-on-goal at 14.7%.
• Priskie is one of 17 defensemen in the country to score five goals to date and also ranks eighth in power play goals (3) by blueliners.
TUF ENUF
• Freshman Odeen Tufto currently leads Quinnipiac in assists (16) and points (19) following his three assist weekend against Maine on Dec. 8-9.
• Tufto's impressive freshman campaign has featured a five-game scoring streak through the first five games of the season.
• Tufto's scoring streak was the longest for a freshman to start his collegiate career since Chase Priskie tallied a point in six-straight games in 2014.
• Tufto leads the team in assists in league games (7).
• Tufto leads all NCAA Division I freshmen with 16 assists and ranks third with 19 points.
• Tufto also leads all NCAA Division I freshmen with six multiple-point games.
• Additionally, Tufto's seven points when trailing and nine points on the road also lead all freshman skaters.
• The first-year Bobcats has tallied a point in 12 of Quinnipiac's 18 games, in which the Bobcats have compiled a 5-6-1 record.
• Against Vermont, Tufto scored twice, including the overtime game-winner in a 3-2 win at home. The last Quinnipiac freshman to score an overtime game-winning goal was Ben Nelson against Army on Jan. 28, 2005.
Mac ATTACK
• Senior Tanner MacMaster checks in with a team-high eight goals and seven assists for 15 points in 18 games this season.
•MacMaster had a goal and an assist in the Bobcats' 5-0 win against Brown on Friday, Nov. 17.
• MacMaster is coming off a junior season in which he scored a career-high eight goals, while also picking up 11 assists for 19 points in 32 games.
• For his career, MacMaster has accumulated 25 goals and 41 assists for 66 points.
FINDING HIS STRIDE
• John Furgele, who joined Quinnipiac last season and sat out as a transfer from New Hampshire, was recently announced as an assistant captain, along with junior Scott Davidson.
• Furgele doubled his point total with his outing against the Bears, putting him at four assists for the season.
• Furgele also had a team-leading seven blocked shots on the weekend.
• Against UMass on Nov. 24, Furgele scored his first career goal at Quinnipiac in a 2-1 loss.
• Furgele also added an assist on Tuesday night at Princeton.
BO KNOWS
• With his goal against UConn on Jan. 2, Bo Pieper now has a goal in three his last six games and checks-in with four goals and four assists for the year.
• Bo Pieper's goal at Princeton was his second of the season and first since Oct. 8 against Boston University.
• Pieper also picked up an assist on Whelan's goal for his first multiple-point game since Game 3 of last year's ECAC Hockey Quarterfinal-clinching win at St. Lawrence on Mar. 12, 2017.
• Pieper has come on as of late, totaling a goal and three assists in nine ECAC Hockey games.
• Pieper is currently the Bobcats' face-off leader, winning 56.7% (216-165) of his draws this season.
• Against Dartmouth, Pieper won 22-of-31 face-offs.
• The senior wing had a break-out year in 2016-17 after leading the team with 13 goals, while adding 12 assists for 25 points.
WHELAN'S WAY
• Alex Whelan's goal against UConn on Jan. 2 gives him seven goals and two assists for nine points for the year.
• The goal against the Huskies was also Whelan's team-leading sixth goal on the road.
• Whelan also recorded an assist in the game for his second multiple-point game of the year and first since Oct. 20, 2017.
BRO SHOW
•Sophomore Brogan Rafferty doubled his assist total for the season with a two-assist night against Princeton to give him four for the year.
• Rafferty now has a goal and four assists in his last six games.
• The second-year Bobcat is coming off a successful freshman campaign that saw him lead Quinnipiac with 22 assists for the year.
DAVO NOTES
• Junior Scott Davidson, who was named an assistant captain in mid-December, picked up his fifth assist of the season in the Bobcats' 3-0 win at UConn on Jan. 2.
• Davidson now has a point in three straight games, matching his career best that he set during his freshman year. That year, Davidson's point streak started in the ECAC Hockey Tournament Championship game and continued through the NCAA Tournament East Regional.

ALL-TIME VS. COLGATE
• Quinnipiac and Colgate have faced each other 36 times with the Bobcats holding a 20-14-2 advantage in the all-time series.
• Quinnipiac lost to Colgate earlier this season, on Nov. 4, 2017, snapping the Bobcats' six-game winning streak against the Raiders dating back to 2014.
• Quinnipiac is 9-7-1 all-time on Colgate's home ice, including a 7-3 decision in the Bobcats' first game at the Class of 1965 Arena.

• Quinnipiac and Cornell have faced each other 38 times with the Bobcats hosting a 16-19-3 record against the Big Red, all-time.
• Cornell took a 2-1 win in Hamden on Nov. 3, 2017.

SCOUTING THE BIG RED
• Cornell enters the weekend ranked fifth nationally and hold an 11-2 record including a 5-1 mark in ECAC Hockey play.
• Trevor Yates leads Cornell in goals (10) and points (17) while Jeff Malott checks in with a team-high nine assists.
• In goal, Matthew Galajda has logged the most minutes in net for Cornell and posts an 8-2-0 record with a 2.10 GAA and a .909 save percentage.
• Hayden Stewart has started the last two games for Cornell and has allowed two goals on 50 shots in 120 minutes for a .962 save percentage and a 1.00 GAA in that span.

GAME NOTES
PILING UP THE HARDWARE
• Andrew Shortridge had an incredible weekend in which he garnered NCAA Men's Ice Hockey First Star of the Week and ECAC Hockey Goalie of the Week honors.
• Shortridge posted a shutout in in the Bobcats' 5-0 victory against Brown on Friday, Nov. 17. The second-year Bobcat followed with another shutout in Quinnipiac's 3-0 win over rival Yale on Saturday, Nov. 18.
• Shortridge is the first goalie in the nation to post back-to-back shutouts in a weekend series this season.
• Shortridge was also the first Quinnipiac goalie to record back-to-back shutouts since Michael Garteig against Yale on Dec. 4, 2015 and Brown on Dec. 5, 2015.
• With a 21-save shutout against UConn, Shortridge recorded his fourth shutout of the season and also became the seventh goalie in program history to record five shutouts for his career.
IN THE BOOKS
• Landon Smith (Greenwood Village, Colorado) had a career-high four points (three goals, one assist) in the Bobcats' 5-0 win against Brown on Friday, Nov. 17, while his three goals gave him his third hat trick of his career.
• Smith's four goals in eight ECAC Hockey games leads Quinnipiac.
• Smith's hat trick was the 31st in Quinnipiac NCAA Division I era.
• Smith's feat made him one of two players, along with Brandon Wong, to record a hat trick against the same team twice in his career; Smith's hat trick was his second against Brown after he recorded one against the Bears on Jan. 30, 2015; Wong had three against Union in his career.
• Wong is the Quinnipiac Division I leader with four career hat tricks while Smith's three-goal night tied Ben Nelson for second with three hat tricks.
• Landon Smith became the 39th player all-time and the 24th in Quinnipiac's Division I era to reach 100 career points with a two-point weekend against Northeastern.
• Smith is one of 13 active players in NCAA Division I hockey with 100 career points while his 108 career points rank fifth, his 43 career goals rank tied for ninth and his 65 career assists rank tied for seventh.
THE CHASE IS ON
• Junior Captain Chase Priskie (Pembroke Pines, Florida) checks-in with five goals and eight assists for 13 points this season.
• Priskie leads Quinnipiac in scoring in ECAC Hockey games to date, logging eight points in nine games on the strength of three goals and five assists.
• Priskie also leads the team in power play goals (3) and power play points (6) for the year.
• Priskie also leads the team in goals-per-shots-on-goal at 14.7%.
• Priskie is one of 17 defensemen in the country to score five goals to date and also ranks eighth in power play goals (3) by blueliners.
TUF ENUF
• Freshman Odeen Tufto currently leads Quinnipiac in assists (16) and points (19) following his three assist weekend against Maine on Dec. 8-9.
• Tufto's impressive freshman campaign has featured a five-game scoring streak through the first five games of the season.
• Tufto's scoring streak was the longest for a freshman to start his collegiate career since Chase Priskie tallied a point in six-straight games in 2014.
• Tufto leads the team in assists in league games (7).
• Tufto leads all NCAA Division I freshmen with 16 assists and ranks third with 19 points.
• Tufto also leads all NCAA Division I freshmen with six multiple-point games.
• Additionally, Tufto's seven points when trailing and nine points on the road also lead all freshman skaters.
• The first-year Bobcats has tallied a point in 12 of Quinnipiac's 18 games, in which the Bobcats have compiled a 5-6-1 record.
• Against Vermont, Tufto scored twice, including the overtime game-winner in a 3-2 win at home. The last Quinnipiac freshman to score an overtime game-winning goal was Ben Nelson against Army on Jan. 28, 2005.
Mac ATTACK
• Senior Tanner MacMaster checks in with a team-high eight goals and seven assists for 15 points in 18 games this season.
•MacMaster had a goal and an assist in the Bobcats' 5-0 win against Brown on Friday, Nov. 17.
• MacMaster is coming off a junior season in which he scored a career-high eight goals, while also picking up 11 assists for 19 points in 32 games.
• For his career, MacMaster has accumulated 25 goals and 41 assists for 66 points.
FINDING HIS STRIDE
• John Furgele, who joined Quinnipiac last season and sat out as a transfer from New Hampshire, was recently announced as an assistant captain, along with junior Scott Davidson.
• Furgele doubled his point total with his outing against the Bears, putting him at four assists for the season.
• Furgele also had a team-leading seven blocked shots on the weekend.
• Against UMass on Nov. 24, Furgele scored his first career goal at Quinnipiac in a 2-1 loss.
• Furgele also added an assist on Tuesday night at Princeton.
BO KNOWS
• With his goal against UConn on Jan. 2, Bo Pieper now has a goal in three his last six games and checks-in with four goals and four assists for the year.
• Bo Pieper's goal at Princeton was his second of the season and first since Oct. 8 against Boston University.
• Pieper also picked up an assist on Whelan's goal for his first multiple-point game since Game 3 of last year's ECAC Hockey Quarterfinal-clinching win at St. Lawrence on Mar. 12, 2017.
• Pieper has come on as of late, totaling a goal and three assists in nine ECAC Hockey games.
• Pieper is currently the Bobcats' face-off leader, winning 56.7% (216-165) of his draws this season.
• Against Dartmouth, Pieper won 22-of-31 face-offs.
• The senior wing had a break-out year in 2016-17 after leading the team with 13 goals, while adding 12 assists for 25 points.
WHELAN'S WAY
• Alex Whelan's goal against UConn on Jan. 2 gives him seven goals and two assists for nine points for the year.
• The goal against the Huskies was also Whelan's team-leading sixth goal on the road.
• Whelan also recorded an assist in the game for his second multiple-point game of the year and first since Oct. 20, 2017.
BRO SHOW
•Sophomore Brogan Rafferty doubled his assist total for the season with a two-assist night against Princeton to give him four for the year.
• Rafferty now has a goal and four assists in his last six games.
• The second-year Bobcat is coming off a successful freshman campaign that saw him lead Quinnipiac with 22 assists for the year.
DAVO NOTES
• Junior Scott Davidson, who was named an assistant captain in mid-December, picked up his fifth assist of the season in the Bobcats' 3-0 win at UConn on Jan. 2.
• Davidson now has a point in three straight games, matching his career best that he set during his freshman year. That year, Davidson's point streak started in the ECAC Hockey Tournament Championship game and continued through the NCAA Tournament East Regional.
