HAMDEN, Conn. – Despite outshooting Maine, 54-30, the Bobcats fell to the Black Bears, 7-4, in a non-conference matchup at Frank Perrotti, Jr. Arena at the TD Bank Sports Center. With the loss, Quinnipiac drops to 6-9-2 overall while Maine improves to 7-7-1 overall.
Quinnipiac jumped out to a 3-0 lead before Maine countered with three unanswered goals. After Quinnipiac took a 4-3 lead early in the third period before the Black Bears scored three goals in 72 seconds to pull out the 7-4 win.

- 5:13, 1st (Quinnipiac 1, Maine 0): Scott Davidson (Trail, British Columbia) scored his first goal of the season to put Quinnipiac on the board early in the game. Luke Shiplo (Oakville, Ontario) won the puck in the corner and played it behind the Bobcats' net to Karlis Cukste (Riga, Latvia). Cukste then centered a pass to Davidson for the goal.
- 8:56 1st (Quinnipiac 2, Maine 0): Bo Pieper (Roseville, Minnesota) took a pass from Landon Smith (Greenwood Village, Colorado) in the face-off circle to the right of Maine goalie Jeremy Swayman. Pieper walked in on goal before snapping a shot past Swayman to give Quinnipiac a 2-0 lead.
- 9:41 1st (Quinnipiac 3, Maine 0): Chase Priskie (Pembroke Pines, Florida) started the play in the neutral zone with a pass to Odeen Tufto (Chaska, Minnesota). Tufto walked it up the boards before sending it ahead to Tanner MacMaster (Calgary, Alberta). MacMaster skated through the slot before maneuvering around a defenseman and scoring Quinnipiac's third goal in the game's first 10 minutes.
- 12:04 1st (Quinnipiac 3, Maine 1): Mitchell Fossier received a cross-ice pass from Tim Doherty, split the Quinnipiac defenseman for a breakaway and flipped a back-hand shot over the shoulder of Andrew Shortridge.
