The nationally-ranked No. 4/4 Quinnipiac women's ice hockey team returns to High Point Solutions Arena for their first home game since Nov. 13 and first home weekend series since Nov. 6-7 when they host the Dartmouth Big Green on Friday, Dec. 4 at 7 P.M. before the nationally-ranked No. 7/8 Harvard Crimson come to Hamden for yet another top 10 showdown between the two teams.
Skate with the Bobcats
Following Saturday's 4 P.M. game against Harvard, the Bobcats will host their second of three post-game "Skate with the Bobcats" events in which fans are invited to bring their skates and join members of the Quinnipiac women's ice hockey team on the ice at High Point Solutions Arena.
All-Time Against Dartmouth
The history between the Bobcats and the Big Green dates back to Quinnipiac's joining ECAC Hockey in 2005. The Bobcats are 7-10-3 all-time against the Big Green but have owned the season series as of late. Quinnipiac is unbeaten against Dartmouth in their last four matchups over the past two seasons, holding a 3-0-1 record. After opening up their all-time series with a 0-6-2 record, the Bobcats are 7-4-1 since the 2009-10. Last season, the Bobcats tied the Big Green 4-4 in Hanover before winning 3-1 in Hamden.
Scouting the Big Green
Dartmouth comes into the weekend matchup third in ECAC Hockey with 10 points going 4-1-2 in league play and 4-4-2 overall. The Big Green are coming off back-to-back losses on a weekend trip against the nationally-ranked No. 1/1 Wisconsin Badgers. Dartmouth opened up the season with a 2-1 win over travel partner Harvard and their lone loss came to St. Lawrence. Since the loss to the Saints, Dartmouth is 3-0-1. Lindsey Allen is off to a great start in her senior year, leading the team with seven goals and 10 points, including six goals and nine points in conference games. Kennedy Ottenbreit, Brooke Ahbe and Ailish Forfar are the only other scorers to record at least 3 goals this season. Laura Stacey leads the team with seven assists, followed by defenseman Eleni Tebano with six assists. Goaltender Robyn Chemago has been great in net for the Big Green going 4-3-2 with a 1.70 GAA and .943 save percentage to accompany three shutouts. On special teams, the Dartmouth power play has been converting at an impressive 25 percent clip, going 8 for 32 this season. The penalty kill has left a little to be desired, killing off 81.1 percent of penalties (30 for 37).
All-Time Against Harvard
The Bobcats have struggled with the Crimson since their first meeting in 2005, going 2-18-2 with both wins coming in the 2010 calendar year. Quinnipiac won a 1-0 decision on Jan. 9, 2010 during the 2009-10 season before beating the Crimson in their next meeting on Nov. 12, 2010, 4-1. Both wins have come at High Point Solutions Arena. Last season, the Bobcats lost all four decisions to the Crimson, including losses in the ECAC Hockey semifinals and NCAA Tournament. Three of the four losses came by a slim, 2-1 margin with two games going to overtime. Lindsey West, Nicole Kosta and Emma Woods scored the goals in each of the meetings for the Bobcats.

Once again, Harvard continues to be one of the top teams in ECAC Hockey as they are ranked second in the league behind the Bobcats with an 8-2-1 record overall and a 5-1-1 record in league play. The Crimson recently went on a seven game winning streak after starting the season 0-1-1 with a loss to Dartmouth and tie with Clarkson. Last weekend, Harvard traveled out to Minnesota Duluth where the split the weekend series with the Bulldogs. Miye D'Oench leads all Harvard skaters with eight goals and 16 points while her eight assists are tied for second on the team. Sydney Daniels and Grace Zarzecki are tied for second on the team with five goals and tied for fourth with eight points. Haley Mullins, a sophomore forward, leads the team with nine assists and is second on the team with 10 points. Defenseman Briana Mastel leads all blue-liners in goals (2), assists (4) and points (6). Emerance Maschmeyer is the primary goaltender for the Crimson, boasting a 4-2-0 record with a 1.34 GAA and .958 save percentage, along with two shutouts. The Crimson's power play has been stellar all season, converting 27.6 percent of their chances (8 for 29) while the penalty kill has been spectacular killing off 92.3 percent of penalties (36 for 39).

For the tenth consecutive week this season, the Quinnipiac women's ice hockey team was ranked in the top 10 of both the USCHO.com Division I Women's Poll and the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine Poll, climbing up to No. 4 in each poll. The Bobcats have been ranked in the top 10 of the USCHO.com Poll for 55 consecutive weeks. In this week's poll, Quinnipiac is one of just two schools to have both their men's and women's ice hockey teams ranked in the top four of the USCHO.com Division I Women's Poll and the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine College Hockey Poll, joining Boston College as the only other school.
Bobcats in the Pairwise
The Bobcats continued to hang out as one of the top teams in the country as they are ranked No. 4 in the most up to date Pairwise Rankings as of Wednesday morning. The Bobcats are the highest ranked ECAC Hockey team followed by Clarkson (No. 5), Harvard (No. 6), Princeton (No. 10), St. Lawrence (No. 11), Cornell (T-No. 12), Colgate (No. 14), and Dartmouth (T-No. 16). The USCHO.com Pairwise Ranking attempts to mimic the method used by the NCAA Selection Committee to determine participants for the NCAA Division I women's hockey tournament.
Three-Peat
The Bobcats won their third consecutive Nutmeg Classic title over the weekend for their sixth title in the history of the Nutmeg Classic. Quinnipiac beat the Yale Bulldogs 3-0 to win the title, behind Most Valuable Player Taylar Cianfarano's three-point effort and Sydney Rossman's fourth straight shutout earned her the Most Valuable Goaltender Award. In addition, Lindsey West was named to the all-tournament team.
ECAC Hockey Awards
Sydney Rossman won her second consecutive ECAC Hockey Goaltender of the Week and third of the season by picking up her fourth straight shutout. In addition, Rossman won her first career ECAC Hockey Goaltender of the Month award after an undefeated 6-0-2 month with five shutouts and just four goals allowed in the month.
October Sky
Rossman had an October to remember after leading the country in wins (6), shutouts (5), GAA (0.49) and save percentage (.975). In the final four games of the season, Rossman recorded four straight shutouts to tie the program record set by Chelsea Laden last season. With a shutout streak of 263:47, Rossman is just 3:46 from tying Laden's program record shutout streak of 267:33 set during her remarkable senior season. Rossman is currently third in the nation for the season with a 1.12 GAA, tied second in shutouts with 6 and tied for fourth in the nation in wins with 11.
MVP! MVP!
Cianfarano had another great weekend for the Bobcats as she was named the most valuable player of the Nutmeg Classic for the first time in her career after picking up her third three point game of the season. Cianfarano scored one goal and two assists to lead all skaters in the tournament in points. Her 15 goals this season are the most in ECAC Hockey while her 23 points rank second to Clarkson's Cayley Mercer. Cianfarano is just two goals from tying her goal total from her entire freshman season when she scored 17.
The Hunt for Red Lights
Cianfarano isn't the only one tearing it up for the Bobcats as Nicole Connery is riding a four-game point streak after picking up an assist against UConn and goal against Yale in the Nutmeg Classic. Connery has one goal and five assists during her streak, boosting her season totals to three goals and eight assists for 11 points. She ranks fifth all-time with 44 assists and 76 points, just one point shy of tying Regan Boulton for fourth all time.
I'll Take a Point
Emma Woods has put up points at an impressive rate in her junior season, already racking up four goals and 10 assists for 14 points, ranking second on the team in assists and third in points. Woods is tied for fifth in the conference in assists and 10th in points. With 63 career points, Woods is tied for 11th in program history with Janine Duffy.
Pour Some Points on Me
Melissa Samoskevich returned to the scoresheet with a bang on Saturday, scoring a goal and assisting one more to give her four multiple-point games this season. The Bobcats' star freshman leads the team in assists with 11 and is second on the team with 16 points. Samoskevich also leads all rookies in assists and points among ECAC Hockey skaters while her 1.07 points per game are tied for fourth in the country among rookies.
Old School
The Bobcats are having an impressive run in the first half of the season for the third straight season. After a loss to Yale on Oct. 31, Quinnipiac is unbeaten in their past eight games and have won five in a row. The eight game unbeaten streak is tied for the second longest streak in program history while the five-game winning streak is tied for the fourth longest streak in program history. Since the 2013-14 season, the Bobcats are a combined 38-4-11 in the first half of the season.
Incredible Defense
Defensively, Quinnipiac is one of the best teams in the country as they rank in the top five in numerous categories. The Bobcats 1.13 GAA is second in the country to Wisconsin's 0.38 while the Bobcats allow the third fewest shots on goal per game at 18.07. On the penalty kill, Quinnipiac is just as impressive, ranking fourth with a 92.7 percent penalty kill percentage, killing off 38 of the 41 penalties committed this season. Although its early, the Bobcats penalty kill percentage is three percent higher than the program record of 89.7 percent set during the 2010-11 season.
Undefeated When...
This season, the Bobcats have been unbeaten when reaching certain milestones. When the Bobcats score first, the team is 9-0-2. Just as impressive, when the Bobcats are leading after the second period, they are 9-0-1, showing they have been able to hold on to their leads. Taylar Cianfarano has been a catalyst for the Bobcats, and when she scores a goal the team is 10-0-0, by far the most wins when a player scores on the team.
