HAMDEN, Connecticut – National-ranked No. 2/3 Quinnipiac men's ice hockey played to a scoreless draw against St. Lawrence for the second 0-0 tie in program history. The Bobcats ran their unbeaten streak to 13 games at 11-0-2 and also move to 4-0-2 in ECAC Hockey play. St. Lawrence goes to 8-3-2 and 3-1-1 in league action.

The last time Quinnipiac played to a 0-0 tie came on Nov. 8, 2008 against Cornell in Hamden, while it was the first 0-0 in St. Lawrence's program history – which played its 2,080 game all-time on Saturday night. Michael Garteig (Prince George, British Columbia) picked up his third shutout of the season and 13^th of his career after stopping all 36 shots on goal by St. Lawrence.

Garteig is now 11-0-2 on the year with a .941 save percentage and a 1.40 goals-against average. All-time, Garteig stands at 57-21-11 with a 1.90 GAA.The Bobcats goalie was in goal for all but one period of the Bobcats' last five games, which were all played over the last nine days. In that span, Garteig was 3-0-2 with 0.83 GAA after allowing just four goals in 289:44 between the pipes and also posted a .965 save percentage after stopping 109 of 113 shots-on-goal. Two of the four goals allowed by Garteig came with the Bobcats' playing a man-down.

Both goalies were spectacular in goal, as SLU's Kyle Hayton turned back Quinnipiac's 31 shots-on-goal through regulation and a five minute overtime. The Saints were on top in the shots department, 23-15, through the second period before Quinnipiac put the accelerator down and out-shot St. Lawrence, 16-13, over the final period and overtime.

Both teams had multiple opportunities to put its team on the board, as St. Lawrence applied constant pressure over the first 40 minutes of regulation before Quinnipiac took-over down the stretch. With both goalies showcasing their all-star skills, it was Garteig with the play of the game. St. Lawrence's Sean McGovern came up with a loose puck in the slot and wristed a shot from close range, on goal. Garteig stopped it and played it back behind McGovern where Brian Ward picked it up and fired on goal. Garteig reached back and stopped it in mid-air with his stick, in front of the goal line, before snaring it with his glove.

Moments later, it was Garteig again denying Christian Horn on the back-end of a two-on-one from close range, snagging Horn's bid which a reach to his left to keep St. Lawrence off the board. On the other end of the ice, Hayton was rock solid, but the Bobcats saw four shots ring off the posts down the stretch.

Quinnipiac is back in action after Thanksgiving when it travels to Amherst, Massachusetts to take on UMass on Friday, Nov. 27 before hosting the Minutemen on Saturday, Nov. 28.
