Wyttenbach Records First Collegiate Hat Trick in Rout of Yale

HAMDEN, Conn. — The No. 5 Quinnipiac men's ice hockey program rolled to a rivalry win on Saturday night, defeating Yale 8-0 in front of a raucous, sold-out crowd at M&T Bank Arena.
Ethan Wyttenbach scored his first of three goals on the night off a deep pass from Mason Marcellus, taking in the breakaway to make it 1-0 after the opening period.
Quinnipiac blew it then blew it open, scoring four in a span of 10:22 including the second for Wyttenbach on the night.
Dylan Silverstein pitched his second shutout of the season, stopping all 23 saves on the night.
STATS AND NOTES
The Bobcats are set for their home and home series with Princeton next weekend, welcoming the Tigers to Hamden on Feb. 14 before trekking to New Jersey on Feb. 15.
Saturday's game is slated for a 7 p.m., puck drop while Sunday is set for a 4 p.m. start.

- Wyttenbach recorded his first collegiate recap and the Bobcats' second of the season, joining Chris Pelosi.
- He now leads the country in points by six, with 19 goals and 28 assists on the year. His 47 points are seven off the Bobcat freshman record. He has added three straight, three-point outings.
- It is the second shutout in the last four games by a Bobcat netminder.
- Braden Blace finished the weekend with three assists, setting a new collegiate best.
- Will Gilson has now recorded five assists in the last three games.
- Aaron Schwartz has a point in five straight games, recording four points on the weekend.
- Antonin Verreault has a four-game point streak, finishing with nine over the last four outings.
