No. 5 Bobcats Stay Hot at Home, Down Princeton

HAMDEN, Conn. — The No. 5 Quinnipiac men's ice hockey program kept its unbeaten stretch rolling on Saturday night, knocking off Princeton by a 4-1 final at M&T Bank Arena in front of 2,753 fans.
The Bobcats and Tigers split the game's first two goals, as Aaron Schwartz and David Jacobs both found the net on the power play.
Elliott Groenewold gave the Bobcats the lead for good just 22 seconds into the period, as he combined with Braden Blace to tap home the cross-net pass.
Ethan Wyttenbach and Antonin Verreault both went to the backhand in the third, beating the Princeton netminder at 2:19 and 6:51, respectively to put the game out of reach for the Bobcats.
Matej Marinov got the start in net for the home team, stopping 21 of 22 shots on his cage.
STATS AND NOTES
The Bobcats head to New Jersey for a 4 p.m., Sunday puck drop against the Tigers in the back end of the home-and-home. The game will be broadcast regionally on SNY and NBC Sports Philly, as well as streamed nationally on ESPN+.

- Wyttenbach continues to lead the nation in scoring, now sitting with 49 on the year after a two-point night. He's five away from the Bobcat freshman scoring record of 54.
- He also has a point in 11 consecutive games, the longest active streak in the country and two off Lucas Wahlin's 13-game heater for the longest streak in the country.
- Blace continues to be on a torrid pace since the calendar turned to 2026, now with 14 points in 13 games. That is third-most by a defenseman in the country. He's also plus-22 during that span, with only Groenewold (plus-27) sitting better since the break.
- Quinnipiac has put up three or more goals in 24 games this season, tied for the most in the country with Michigan. They are 22-0-2 in those contests.
- They also continue their hot scoring stretch at home, with now 80 goals in 15 home contests this season. That is second-most in the country (Michigan, 84).
