HAMDEN, Conn. – After a six-day hiatus, Quinnipiac women's basketball returns to action on Saturday with a home MAAC matchup vs. Iona. Tip-off from M&T Bank Arena is set for 2 p.m. on ESPN+.

Iona is led by Billi Chambers, who has totaled 125 victories in 10 seasons with the Gaels
Iona boasts 10 wins on the season, one short of equaling last season's total
The Gaels enter the contest at 10-5 on the season and 5-1 in MAAC contests
Iona is currently riding a four-game win streak entering Saturday's contest and has claimed victory in eight of its last 10 contests
Iona downed MAAC newcomers Mount St. Mary's, 63-44, at home in their last time out this past Thursday to claim their fourth consecutive win
Natalie Otkhmezuri led Iona with 18 points, while Juana Camilion contributed 10 points and 10 rebounds for a double-double
Entering Saturday's contest, Iona has three players who average double-figures in scoring, led by Juana Camilion's 13.8 points per game

LAST TIME OUT

A late run proved to be the difference, as Quinnipiac women's basketball used a 14-0 run in the fourth quarter to down Canisius on the road, 69-53, Saturday afternoon inside of the Koessler Athletic Center.
Quinnipiac saw three reach double-figures in scoring, led by Mikala Morris' 17 points
Mary Baskerville and Ella O'Donnell contributed 12 points apiece in the victory

After starting 2016-17 with a mark of 2-0 when owning a halftime lead, the Bobcats saw one of their most impressive streaks in program history come to an end in a 71-68 loss at Temple
The undefeated streak, which lasted over the course of three seasons, came to an end at 46 straight wins for the Bobcats when holding a halftime lead.
Quinnipiac went undefeated in both 2014-15 (24-0) and 2015-16 (19-0) and for the first two games of 2016-17 before suffering the defeat.

Graduate student Rose Caverly opted to return to Quinnipiac for a fifth season over the summer
Through 15 games, Caverly is averaging 7.4 points, 4.4 assists, 3.2 rebounds and 1.3 steals per game
Caverly's 66 assists ranks fourth in the MAAC, while her 4.4 assists per game also slots her fourth in the conference
Her 1.5 assist-to-turnover ratio ranks second in the MAAC
Caverly totaled five points, nine rebounds and eight assists in a win over Mount St. Mary's on Dec. 31
She totaled seven points and seven assists against URI on Dec. 11
Caverly posted 11 points and five rebounds in a win over Yale on Dec. 7
Caverly tallied season-best totals of 15 points and 8 assists in Quinnipiac's 67-64 victory over Lehigh on Nov. 27
In that game, Caverly scored seven of her 15 points in the fourth quarter, including the game-winning field goal in an old-fashioned three-point play

MAGNIFICENT MORRIS

Entering the 2022-23 campaign, Mikala Morris was named to the preseason All-MAAC First Team
With 139 career blocks, Morris ranks fifth on the program's Div. I blocks list
With 774 career rebounds, Morris ranks fifth on the program's Div. I rebounds list
Morris is one of two players in the program's Div. I history to rank in the top-five in blocks and rebounds, joining Aryn McClure
Morris became the 17th player in Quinnipiac's Div. I history to reach 1,000 career points on Dec. 31, 2022 and currently sits in 17th with 1,036 points
Morris is one of two players in the program's Div. I history with at least 1,000 career points, 750 rebounds and 130 blocks (Aryn McClure '19)
Morris is averaging 11.4 points, 7.0 rebounds, 1.6 blocks and a career-best 1.9 assists per game in 14 games played
Her 7.0 rebounds per game ranks sixth in the conference
Her 1.6 blocks per game is tied for second in the MAAC, while her 22 blocks on the season ranks third in the conference

Haywood ranks second in three-point field-goal percentage (38.8%)
Haywood scored 18 points in a win over Mount St. Mary's on Dec. 31
She grabbed a career-high 10 rebounds in the win over Saint Peter's on Dec. 29
Haywood tallied 14 points and a steal against Iona on Dec. 17

She scored a season-high 20 points in a win over Yale on Dec. 7
Grisdale tallied 10 points and grabbed a career-high seven rebounds in the Bobcats' victory over St. Francis Brooklyn on Dec. 4
Regarded as a defensive anchor, Grisdale earned Christmas City Classic All-Tournament honors for her defensive prowess during the weekend invitational
Grisdale held the Bobcats' opponents' season-leading scorers to a combined total of five points on 2-for-11 (18.1%) shooting during the tournament
She tallied 10 points in a road loss at No. 11 Indiana on Nov. 20
Grisdale led the Bobcats with 13 points in the win over Hartford on Nov. 14

Graduate student Mary Baskerville announced that she would be transferring from Providence to Quinnipiac this past summer
Baskerville is averaging 8.7 points, 5.5 rebounds, 1.6 steals and 1.3 blocks per game through 13 games with Quinnipiac
Her 1.6 steals per game ranks 16th in the MAAC
Her 1.3 blocks per game ranks sixth in the MAAC
She is shooting an efficient 71.0% (49-for-69) from the floor, which is tops in the MAAC
Baskerville has recorded four or more steals in three games this season, including three times in the last four contests
She totaled a season-best 17 points and added five rebounds and five steals in a win over Manhattan on Dec. 19
Baskerville tied her career-high of six steals against Iona on Dec. 17
Baskerville totaled 13 points, five rebounds, four blocks, four steals and four steals in her first start of the season in a win over Yale on Dec. 7
She shot a perfect 5-for-5 from the field in the contest, marking the second time this season she has shot 100% from the field in a game with at least five attempts
Baskerville totaled a season-high five blocks in the win over St. Francis on Dec. 4
Baskerville totaled 11 points on 5-for-6 shooting and added six rebounds in 12 minutes against Hartford on Nov. 14

A native of Shankill, Ireland, O'Donnell is a member of the Irish women's basketball national team

She grabbed a career-high 12 rebounds in a win over Saint Peter's on Dec. 29
She collected 11 rebounds in QU's win over Yale on Dec. 7
In her first collegiate start, O'Donnell totaled a career-high 14 points and added five rebounds in Quinnipiac's win over Lehigh on Nov. 27
She tallied 10 points and added four rebounds and a career-high three steals in a win over Hartford on Nov. 14
O'Donnell scored a career-high 10 points off the bench in a victory over CCSU on Nov. 12
She made her Irish senior women's national team debut at 18 in 2022

MACK ATTACK

Graduate student Mackenzie DeWees opted to return to Quinnipiac for a fifth season over the summer
Entering the 2022-23 campaign, DeWees was named to the preseason watch list for the 2023 Becky Hammon Mid-Major Player of the Year Award presented by Her Hoop Stats
DeWees was also a unanimous preseason All-MAAC First-Team selection
Last season DeWees garnered All-MAAC First Team honors for the second time in her career, becoming the second player in program history to do so behind Aryn McClure ('19)
Averaged 13.8 points, 7.3 rebounds, 3.3 steals, and 3.1 assists per game in 2021-22
Was one of only two players in the country to average at least 13.0 points, 7.0 rebounds. 3.0 assists and 3.0 steals per game last season
DeWees' 105 total steals and 3.4 steals per game places her fourth in the nation in both categories, respectively
She's tallied five or more steals in nine of Quinnipiac's games, most recently tallying five thefts against Marist on Feb. 24
Tallied 106 steals and averaged 3.31 steals per game, which ranked fourth and fifth in the nation
DeWees was just the second player in Quinnipiac's Div. I history to tally 100+ steals in a season, becoming the first to do so since Felicia Barron ('13) totaled 119 thefts during the 2012-13 campaign
DeWees has totaled 237 career steals, ranking third in the program's Div. I history
DeWees became the 16th player in Quinnipiac's Div. I history to reach 1,000 career points on March 9, 2022 and currently sit in 16th with 1,039 points

RECORD-BREAKING DAY

It was a total team effort as the Quinnipiac women's basketball team set a new program Div. I program record for margin of victory, downing Hartford by 55 points in an 85-30 home victory on Nov. 18 inside of M&T Bank Arena.
Quinnipiac received a balanced scoring attack as it had five student-athletes finish in double-figures, as Cur'Tiera Haywood and Jackie Grisdale led all scorers with 13 points apiece
Mary Baskerville added 11 points off the bench, while Ella O'Donnell and Rose Caso totaled 10 points apiece as reserves as well
The 55-point win marked the largest margin of victory in Quinnipiac's Div. I history
Quinnipiac held Hartford to 30 points in the contest, the least amount of points the Bobcats have allowed in a game in its Div. I history

PRESEASON ACCLAIM

Quinnipiac women's basketball was picked to finish first in the MAAC as announced by the conference office on Oct. 18, during the 2022-23 Basketball Preseason Awards Show on ESPN3
The Bobcats were tabbed No. 1 in the MAAC Preseason Coaches' Poll, earning 117 total points and eight first-place votes
Trailing Quinnipiac in second was Manhattan with 112 points (3), followed by Niagara at 94 votes and reigning MAAC Tournament champions Fairfield with 74 points
Three Bobcats earned All-MAAC preseason honors in Mackenzie DeWees (First Team, *unanimous), Mikala Morris (First Team), and Rose Caverly (Third Team)
Manhattan's Dee Dee Davis was tabbed as the conference's Preseason Player of the Year

2021-22 SEASON IN REVIEW
