Bobcats Advance to 2026 MAAC Championship Game

Atlantic City, New Jersey – The Quinnipiac Bobcats punched their ticket to the 2026 Air Force Reserve MAAC Women's Basketball championship game with a 63-62 overtime win over the Iona Gaels.
The Bobcats will take on the #2 Fairfield Stags on Monday, March 9th, with tip-off slated for 6 PM from Jim Whelan Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City.
Karson Martin stepped up hugely, scoring 19 points, grabbing six rebounds, and dishing out five assists in over 43 minutes of action. Martin was clutch at the charity stripe, going 5-for-5 in the win. Ella Ryan continues to shine in Atlantic City as she scored 15 points on 5-13 shooting from the floor. Ryan knocked down three of seven three-point attempts in 34 minutes of action. Anna Foley was big off the bench, scoring 12 points on 6-for-9 shooting from the field. Seven different Bobcats recorded points in the overtime victory over the Iona Gaels.

GAME REWIND
Karson Martin got the Bobcats on the board first in the opening frame, but the two teams went back-and-forth to open the contest. Jackie Grisdale made a pull-up jumper as Quinnipiac pulled within one point (10-9) at the media timeout. Iona continued to stay in front for the remainder of the quarter, but Sydney Ryan drilled a three to get QU within two at the end of the first frame.
Iona scored four straight points to start the second quarter, but Quinnipiac answered with a 10-0 run to take a 22-18 lead into the second quarter media timeout. Out of the timeout, the Bobcats continued to keep their distance as they held a four-point advantage at the halftime break.
The Gaels came out in the third quarter and took a three-point lead as Quinnipiac called a timeout with 6:52 remaining in the quarter. Out of the break, the two sides traded shots as they were knotted at 45 heading into the final quarter.
Both sides traded leads throughout the fourth quarter, and Ella Ryan knotted the game up with 1:03 remaining to send the game into overtime with the score knotted at 57.
Anna Foley was big for the Bobcats in overtime, recording a key block and scoring the game-winning bucket with 27 seconds left on the clock. Quinnipiac was able to get the final stop to advance to the MAAC Title game with a 63-62 win.
