QU Falls in MAAC Title Contest vs. Fairfield

Atlantic City, New Jersey – Quinnipiac women's basketball fell against Fairfield, 51-44, in the 2026 Air Force Reserve MAAC Women's Basketball Championship Game on Monday evening from Jim Whelan Boardwalk Hall. The Bobcats move to 26-6 with the result.
Anna Foley led Quinnipiac with 17 points and nine rebounds, going 7-of-11 from the floor. Ella Ryan chipped in with 14 points.
Jillian Huerter (16 points) and Cyanne Coe (15 points) led Fairfield.

The Stags got out to a quick 4-0 start on the Bobcats, but Quinnipiac scored four straight to knot it back up early on in this one. After Fairfield took a two-point lead into the media timeout, the two sides traded points, but the Stags held a slight one-point advantage after the first quarter.
Ella O'Donnell put the Bobcats ahead by one point to start the second quarter, but Fairfield stormed back to take a 20-13 lead into the media timeout. Out of the break, the Stags pushed their lead to ten, but a response from Quinnipiac sent this game to halftime with a score of 25-19.
The third quarter was all about defense to start with just eleven points being scored for seven minutes of the third frame. The Stags let the Bobcats get within four before stretching it to a nine-point lead heading into the final frame.
In the final quarter, the Stags kept pushing their lead to double digits, but Quinnipiac was not letting up. With the Stags leading by ten with just 3:17 left, the Bobcats turned to Anna Foley, who cut the lead to five before Jackie Grisdale got a layup to go to make it a one-possession contest.
After the Bobcats called a timeout with 31 seconds to play, the Bobcats were unable to get a three-pointer to fall as Fairfield iced the game with free throws to claim their third straight MAAC Title.
