Women's Basketball Falls to Stanford in WBIT

Stanford, Calif. – The Quinnipiac women's basketball season came to a close on Sunday afternoon after falling to the Stanford Cardinal, 81-69, inside Maples Pavilion. The Bobcats finished the 2025-26 season with 27 wins, marking their second straight season winning 25+ contests and the fifth time in the last ten seasons.
Anna Foley balled out in the season finale, scoring 24 points on 56.3% (9-for-16) shooting from the field. Foley filled the stat sheet, recording four assists, three rebounds, a block, and a steal. Ella O'Donnell had a great day for the Bobcats, finishing with 17 points on 41.2% shooting from the floor. O'Donnell was all over the floor, finishing the day with five rebounds, two assists, a block, and a steal. Jackie Grisdale closed out her collegiate career with a 15-point performance on 62.5% shooting. Grisdale knocked down three of her five three-point attempts in the loss. Six total Bobcats recorded points in the WBIT Second Round loss to the Stanford Cardinal.

GAME REWIND
Jackie Grisdale got the scoring started for the Bobcats, going 2-for-2 at the free-throw line just 29 seconds into the contest. After that point, Quinnipiac and Stanford were trading buckets, but the Bobcats were able to hold a small advantage, 16-15, at the end of the opening quarter.
The second quarter started the same way the first one ended, with both teams getting their looks to fall as the two teams were knotted at 26 halfway through the second frame. In the final 4:27 in the quarter, Stanford went on a 16-7 run to take a nine-point lead into the halftime break.
To start the second half, the Bobcats were able to cut the deficit to four before the Cardinal turned their lead back into an eight-point advantage. After the media timeout, Stanford maintained their distance, taking a ten-point lead into the fourth quarter.
The Bobcats were not giving up as they opened the fourth quarter on a 6-0 run to make it a four-point game once again. After Stanford went back up ten, Quinnipiac had the response, cutting the deficit back to four with just under two minutes to play. The Cardinal wouldn't let the Bobcats get any closer as they closed out the game on a 13-5 run and sealed their spot in the WBIT Quarterfinal round.
