#8/7 Bobcats Travel to the North Country for Three Games at Clarkson, St. Lawrence

HAMDEN, Conn. - The No. 8/7 Quinnipiac Bobcats hit the road to take on the Clarkson Golden Knights and St. Lawrence Saints this weekend. The Bobcats and Golden Knights will face off on Friday night in Potsdam, and the Saints will host the Bobcats for two games Saturday and Sunday afternoon. The Sunday game at St. Lawrence is a re-scheduled game from earlier in January.

Last Time Out
The Bobcats hosted No. 9/9 Colgate and Cornell last weekend, going 1-1 against the Raiders and Big Red. On Friday, the Bobcats took on the Raiders in a tight, back-and-forth battle. The Raiders got on the board early in the first period, but Nina Steigauf answered three minutes later to tie the game. Kendall Cooper scored off a face off win by Lexie Adzija to give Quinnipiac a 2-1 lead. Colgate's Neena Brick tied the game in the second period. Both teams netted goals in the third to force overtime after completing regulation with a 3-3 score. Jess Schryver scored the game-tying goal with nine minutes remaining in regulation. The Raiders would score during the 3-versus-3 overtime period to earn the OT win.
On Sunday against Cornell, the Bobcats got on the board in the second period to take a 1-0 lead. First-year Ann-Frederick Naud received the puck in the neutral zone from Zoe Boyd. Naud sent a lifted pass to Olivia Mobley on the break, and she scored a beautiful goal past Cornell's Lindsay Browning. Cooper added her second goal of the weekend from the right point to give Quinnipiac a 2-0 lead. Later in the third, an interesting delayed penalty situation allowed Quinnipiac to score an empty-net goal and secure a 3-0 win.
Quinnipiac's 3-0 win over Cornell sealed the season sweep against the Big Red. This was the first time since the 2015-16 season that the Bobcats swept Cornell in the regular season, and it's the first time ever that Quinnipiac swept the series with two shutout victories.
Scouting Clarkson
The Clarkson Golden Knights hold a 20-5-3 overall record and an 11-4-1 ECAC Hockey record. Clarkson sits in second place with 34.5 points through 16 conference games played. The Golden Knights are coming off a 3-1 win over Colgate on Tuesday, Feb. 1 and a 4-2 win over Dartmouth on Jan. 29. The Golden Knights' last loss came on Jan. 28 at Harvard in a 6-2 game. Clarkson is scoring 3.0 goals per game with 35.6 shots on goal. Clarkson has a .768 winning percentage this season, which is ranked fourth in the nation.

Mobes & Coop Making It Happen
Olivia Mobley and Kendall Cooper have recorded 14 points together through the last five games. Cooper is also on a five-game point streak, tallying two multi-point games against Union and No. 9/9 Colgate. Mobley is second on the team in points with 20 on 11 goals and nine assists. Cooper has notched 17 points on four goals and 13 assists, which is good for fourth on the team.

Maya Labad (Montreal, Quebec) and Ann-Frédérik Naud (Montreal, Quebec) join the team with Hockey Canada experience and a dynamic duo mentality. The two Canadians have played hockey together since they were little and will look to bring their familiarity and cohesiveness to the ice on offense. Veronica Bac comes to Hamden from Huntley, Ill., and was a member of the Chicago mission team. Kate Helgeson is a forward hailing from Roseau High School in Roseau, Minn. Mallory Mauracher and Mia Lopata complete the first-year group, and come from Dublin, Ohio and Clinton, N.Y., respectively.
