Five Bobcats Score, QU Takes Game One vs Clarkson

HAMDEN, Conn. – The No. 9/9 Quinnipiac women's ice hockey defeated the No. 10 Clarkson Golden Knights in game one of the ECAC Hockey quarterfinals, 5-1. Five different Bobcats scored in the win, and graduate student Corinne Schroeder made 36 saves in the net for Quinnipiac. Mobley led the team with three point on one goal and two assists.
The 5-1 win today is the largest margin of victory for Quinnipiac over Clarkson in program history. The Bobcats improve to 24-7-3 on the season and need one more win to advance to the ECAC Hockey semifinal game next weekend.
Graduate student Renee Saltness tallied the game-winning goal in the second period. Mobley, Alexa Hoskin, Taylor House and Sadie Peart also scored in the win.

SCORING SUMMARY
- (16:44, 1st period, EV) – Quinnipiac 0, Clarkson 1: Kristina Schuler netted the only goal for Clarkson in the first period. Anne Cherkowski added the assist on the goal.
- (18:21, 1st period, EV) – Quinnipiac 1, Clarkson 1: Mobley tied the game about two minutes later with a goal scored on the back-door. House received the puck from Kendall Cooper, and made a great backwards pass to Mobley, who hit it first time past Clarkson's Pasiechnky.
- (8:50, 2nd period, EV) – Quinnipiac 2, Clarkson 1: Saltness secured the puck from Nina Steigauf in the neutral zone. She skated towards the goal with one defenseman in front of her. She ripped a shot from the high slot and went top-shelf past Pasiechnky. Zoe Boyd also tallied an assist on the play.
- (15:02, 2nd period, EV) – Quinnipiac 3, Clarkson 1: Hoskin netted the Bobcats' third goal of the game on a rebound right in front of the net. Mobley drove to the net on the left side and made a pass to Sadie Peart on the right back-door. Pasiechnky made a great save, but Hoskin was there to lift the puck up and over to score.
- (1:37, 3rd period, PP) – Quinnipiac 4, Clarkson 1: Mobley sent the puck to Hoskin on the right circle, who hit a one-timer on net. House was wide open on the left side and buried the rebound.
- (17:43, 3rd period, EN) – Quinnipiac 5, Clarkson 1: oPeart gathered the puck from Ann-Frédérik Naud in the Bobcats' defensive zone and she skated up the ice past two Clarkson defensemen to score the empty-net goal. Corinne Schroeder also tallied an assist on the goal.
- Quinnipiac recorded its largest margin of victory over Clarkson in program history today.
- This was the first playoff win against Clarkson for Quinnipiac since 2015-16 when the Bobcats won the ECAC Hockey Tournament Championship, 1-0, against the Golden Knights.
- The Bobcats tallied the team's first playoff win since Feb. 29, 2020 when Quinnipiac defeated Princeton.
- Mobley, House, Hoskin and Peart all tallied multi-point games in the win. Mobley led the team with three points on one goal and two assists.
- Cooper, Boyd, Steigauf and Naud all notched helpers in the win.
- Schroeder made 36 saves with one goal against. Clarkson's Pasiechnky had 26 stops.
- Quinnipiac went 1-1 on the power play, and the Bobcats are 13-0 this season when scoring a power play goal. The Bobcats also killed off one penalty.
- Lexie Adzija led the team in the face-off circle, winning 14 out of 15 draws. As a team, Quinnipiac won 77% of the face offs.
- Clarkson out shot Quinnipiac 37-31.
