#9 Women's Ice Hockey Set to Host #10 Clarkson in ECAC Hockey Quarterfinals

HAMDEN, Conn. - The No. 9/9 Quinnipiac women's ice hockey is set to host the ECAC Hockey quarterfinals against the No. 10 Clarkson Golden Knights in a best-of-three game series this weekend. The Bobcats ended the regular season as the fourth seed in the ECAC Hockey standings and will host the fifth seeded Golden Knights.
Quinnipiac finished the regular season with a 23-8-3 overall record and a 15-7-0 ECAC Hockey record. The Bobcats' overall record was the best record for the team since 2015-16, and the team was one win away from tying the program record for conference wins in a season.

Last Time Out
The Bobcats played the last regular season games Feb. 18-19 against No. 6/6 Yale and Brown. The Bobcats took the first game against Yale in a 4-1 victory for the team's fifth top-ten win of the season. On Saturday, Quinnipiac was edged by Brown in a 1-0 loss.
Against the Bulldogs, Renee Saltness tallied the game's first goal in the first period to give the Bobcats a 1-0 lead. Yale responded with a goal of its own three minutes later, but the Bobcats dominated the rest of the period. Kendall Cooper gave the Bobcats a 2-1 lead in the first period with a shot from close to the blue line on the right side. Jess Schryver scored in the second period to make it 3-1, and then Olivia Mobley scored an empty-net goal to give Quinnipiac the 4-1 win.
The Bobcats struggled to find the back of the net on Saturday against the Brown Bears. Brown's Kaley Doyle made 36 saves to lead Brown in the shutout victory. This was the Bears' second top-ten win of the season. Quinnipiac outshot Brown 36-13 in the loss.
Scouting Clarkson (#10 nationally, #5 ECAC Tournament)
The Golden Knights hold a 22-9-3 overall record and finished conference play with a 13-8-1 record, which was good for the fifth seed in the tournament. Clarkson is coming off a 0-2 weekend to finish the regular season. The Golden Knights dropped two home games to Colgate and Cornell to fall in the standings. Since losing to Quinnipiac in overtime on Feb. 4, the Golden Knights have gone 2-4 through the final stretch of the season.
Caitrin Lonergan leads the team with 47 points on 17 goals and 30 assists. Eleven Golden Knights have tallied double-digit points this season, and the team has recorded 104 goals total, which is ranked ninth in the country. Michelle Pasiechnyk has started in the net in 30 games for Clarkson, recording a 1.60 goals against average with a .932 save percentage. She was also named a semifinalist for the Women's Goalie of the Year award.
The Golden Knights have killed off 80% of penalties this season against ECAC Hockey opponents, which is ranked ninth in the conference. Clarkson's 22.8 power play percentage is ranked third in the conference.

She is ranked third on the team with 25 points on seven goals and 18 assists. Adzija is the fourth Bobcat to win the award; Kenzie Lancaster '19, Kristen Tamberg '16 and Chelsea Laden '15 also won.
A Look at the Playoffs
After a tight finish, the Bobcats finished in the fourth seed for the ECAC Hockey playoffs and will host a playoff series for the first time since the 2015-16 season. It will also be the first time since the 2015-16 season that Quinnipiac will host Clarkson for a playoff game. Harvard claimed the first-place seed, followed by Yale and Colgate in second and third. Clarkson, Cornell, St. Lawrence and Princeton makeup the bottom half of the playoff teams. The winners of the best-of-three game series will advance to the semifinal game, which will be played at the highest remaining seed's home site.

In addition, Angers has recorded just two losses this season with a 0.821 winning percentage, which is ranked fourth in the nation. Schroeder is ranked sixth in the country in goals against average (1.43) and fourth in save percentage (.946).
Point Picture
The Bobcats have five skaters with over 20 points this season. Sadie Peart has tallied a career-high 28 points on 11 goals and 17 assists to lead the team. Olivia Mobley has tallied 14 goals and 11 assists for 25 points, which is good for second on the team. Lexie Adzija is third on the team with 25 points, which is four off from tying her career high. In the sophomore class, Kendall Cooper, Nina Steigauf, Sophie Urban, Maddy Samoskevich and Mobley have all recorded career-high point totals.
