Schroeder's 39 Saves Lift Bobcats Past Clarkson, QU Advances to ECAC Hockey Semifinal

HAMDEN, Conn. – The No. 9/9 Quinnipiac women's ice hockey took down No. 10 Clarkson Golden Knights, 4-0, on Saturday afternoon in the ECAC Hockey quarterfinal game. The Bobcats completed the series with two wins and advance on to the ECAC Hockey semifinals next weekend.
Four different Bobcats scored in the win, and graduate student Corinne Schroeder made 39 saves in a stellar performance to lead the team. Through two games, Schroeder allowed just one goal against and made 75 saves. Olivia Mobley and Taylor House netted their second goals of the weekend, combining for eight points together this weekend.
This is the first shutout against Clarkson for Quinnipiac since the 2016 ECAC Hockey Championship game when the Bobcats defeated the Golden Knights, 1-0. Quinnipiac picked up its 25th win of the season today.

- (11:44, 2nd period, EV) – Quinnipiac 1, Clarkson 0: Maddy Samoskevich got the Bobcats going in the second period with a goal scored right above the crease. Alexa Hoskin tallied an assist on the goal.
- (00:45, 3rd period, PP) – Quinnipiac 2, Clarkson 0: Mobley scored a power play goal 45 seconds into the third period. House retrieved the puck from Kendall Cooper and shot on net. The rebound bounced out to the left side, right to Mobley on the back door and she tapped it in.
- (7:05, 3rd period, EV) – Quinnipiac 3, Clarkson 0: Maya Labad sent the puck around the net from the point and got it herself on the opposite side. She sent a great pass to open ice right past the blue line and House picked it up. House shot it from the high slot to give Quinnipiac a 3-0 lead.
- (15:10, 3rd period, EV) – Quinnipiac 4, Clarkson 0: Steigauf scored the Bobcats' fourth goal off a tip in. Cooper shot it from right side and Steigauf tipped it in near the crease. Adzija also added an assist on the goal.
- This was the first time Quinnipiac shutout Clarkson in a playoff game since the ECAC Championship on March 6, 2016.
- The Bobcats defeated the Golden Knights in two games a three-game playoff series for the first time in program history. The last time Quinnipiac beat Clarkson in a quarterfinal series was Feb. 24-26, 2012.
- House and Cooper tallied multi-point games with two points each.
- Both House and Mobley recorded four points each this weekend to lead the team.
- Schroeder made 39 saves in the win and tallied her fifth shutout of the year.
- The Bobcats scored one power play goal today on three chances and held Clarkson off the board while on the man advantage.
