HAMDEN, Conn. – The No. 9/9 Quinnipiac women's ice hockey team was defeated by the Brown Bears at home on Saturday by a score of 1-0. Brown's Maya Mangiafico netted the game's lone goal to lift the Bears past the Bobcats.

Logan Angers made 12 saves in the net. Quinnipiac out shot Brown, 36-13, but could not find the back of the net. Quinnipiac will finish the regular season with a 23-8-3 overall record and a 15-7-0 ECAC Hockey record, taking the fourth place seed in the ECAC Hockey Tournament.

The Bobcats will host the No. 5 seeded Clarkson Golden Knights next weekend in the best-of-three quarterfinal series.

SCORING SUMMARY

(4:54, 1st period, EV) – Quinnipiac 0, Brown 1: Maya Mangiafico netted the game's only goal in the second period on the power play. Cassidy Piersiak sent the puck to Anna Hurd, who shot it on net at Angers. Mangiaafico found the lose puck off a rebound and tapped it in the net.

NOTES

The Bobcats out shot the Bears, 36-13.
Brown held the edge in the face-off circle, winning 55.3%.
The Bears went 1-2 on the power play and Quinnipiac went 0-2.
This was the first time the Bobcats had been shutout since Nov. 13 in a 1-0 loss to Princeton.
