Bobcats Fall Short at #10 NC State

RALEIGH, NC. – The Quinnipiac women's basketball team returned to action on Monday, as the Bobcats fell in the 2022-23 season-opener at No. 10 NC State, 82-45, inside of James T. Valvano Arena.
Quinnipiac was led by Cur'Tiera Haywood and Jackie Grisdale, who chipped in eight points apiece in the loss. Mikala Morris added six points and a team-best seven rebounds in the loss.
After trailing by 30 points at halftime, the Bobcats went on a 12-0 run, powered by a three-pointer apiece from Reiven Douglas and Jackie Grisdale, as well as back-to-back deep makes for Cur'Tiera Haywood. The hot shooting cut Quinnipiac's deficit to 18 points, forcing NC State to call a timeout. After the Bobcats cut the deficit to 18, NC State outscored Quinnipiac 12-7 to end the third, taking a 56-32 lead into the fourth. The Wolfpack stayed hot in the fourth quarter, opening the period with a 20-8 run to essentially put the game away before holding on for a 82-45 victory.
