BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Following a five-day hiatus, the Quinnipiac women's basketball team returns to action on Sunday, as the Bobcats travel to Bloomington to take on national powerhouse No. 12 Indiana. Tip-off from Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall is set for 1 p.m. on B1G+.
THE MATCHUP: vs. #12 INDIANA
- The No. 12 Hoosiers enter the contest at 4-0 on the new campaign
- After taking down Vermont (86-49) and UMass Lowell (93-37) to open the season, Indiana experienced its first test with No. 11 Tennessee on the road this past Monday
- The Hoosiers ended up downing the Lady Vols in Knoxville, 79-67, with Mackenzie Holmes and Sara Scalia leading the offensive attack with 16 points apiece
- Through four games, the Hoosiers are outscoring opponents by 35.0 points per game, with only one opponent coming within 30 points in a contest
- Indiana has five players averaging double-figures in scoring this season led by Mackenzie Holmes' 16.3 points per game. Holmes also leads the team in rebounds (7.0) and blocks (1.5) per game
- Grace Berger ranks third on the team in scoring (11.8 ppg), second in rebounding (6.5 rpg) and first in assists (5.8 apg)
- Graduate student guard Grace Berger and senior forward Mackenzie Holmes were named to the Jersey Mike's Naismith Trophy Women's Watch List, announced by the Atlanta Tipoff Club prior to the start of the 2022-23 season
- Sunday's contest will mark the second contest between the two programs in their Div. I history
- Indiana holds the win in the only contest between the two teams
- The No. 4 Hoosiers made the trip to Hamden for the Bobcats' 2021-22 home-opener and narrowly escaped with a 67-59 win over Quinnipiac on Nov. 20, 2021
- Quinnipiac led for nearly 30 minutes of the contest
- Mackenzie DeWees led the Bobcats with 15 points and added seven rebounds and three steals
- Mikala Morris added 13 points and 10 rebounds for a double-double

- It was a total team effort as the Quinnipiac women's basketball team set a new program Div. I program-record for margin of victory, downing Hartford by 55 points in an 85-30 home victory on Nov. 18 inside of M&T Bank Arena.
- Quinnipiac received a balanced scoring attack as it had five student-athletes finish in double-figures, as Cur'Tiera Haywood and Jackie Grisdale led all scorers with 13 points apiece
- Mary Baskerville added 11 points off the bench, while Ella O'Donnell and Rose Caso totaled 10 points apiece as reserves as well
- The 55-point win marked the largest margin of victory in Quinnipiac's Div. I history
- Quinnipiac held Hartford to 30 points in the contest, the least amount of points the Bobcats have allowed in a game in its Div. I history
- Head coach Tricia Fabbri is in her 28th season at the helm of the Bobcats in 2022-23
- A five-time Coach of the Year (three in nine MAAC seasons) and all-time winningest coach in program history, Fabbri has totaled 484 career victories, thus far
- Of her 484 wins, 469 have come in Quinnipiac's Div. I era
- With a 21-12 record last season, Fabbri secured the program's 11th-straight winning season under her guidance
- Fabbri's Bobcats have reached the 20-win plateau in 11 seasons, including a run of eight straight seasons from 2011-2019
- With five NCAA Tournament appearances along with five WNIT berths, Fabbri has led QU to 10 postseason national tournaments in her tenure
- She has led Quinnipiac to five conference titles in the last 10 seasons and earned five consecutive MAAC Regular Season titles from 2015-2019
- With the win over Fordham in 2020, Fabbri became the 111th coach in DI women's basketball history to reach 450 career wins and the 26th to do it at one program
- Graduate student Mackenzie DeWees opted to return to Quinnipiac for a fifth season over the summer
- Entering the 2022-23 campaign, DeWees was named to the preseason watch list for the 2023 Becky Hammon Mid-Major Player of the Year Award presented by Her Hoop Stats
- DeWees was also a unanimous preseason All-MAAC First Team selection
- Last season DeWees garnered All-MAAC First Team honors for the second time in her career, becoming the second player in program-history to do so behind Aryn McClure ('19)
- Averaged 13.8 points, 7.3 rebounds, 3.3 steals and 3.1 assists per game in 2021-22
- Was one of only two players in the country to average at least 13.0 points, 7.0 rebounds. 3.0 assists and 3.0 steals per game last season
- DeWees' 105 total steals and 3.4 steals per game places her fourth in the nation in both categories, respectively
- She's tallied five or more steals in nine of Quinnipiac's games, most recently tallying five thefts against Marist on Feb. 24
- Tallied 106 steals and averaged 3.31 steals per game, which ranked fourth and fifth in the nation
- DeWees was just the second player in Quinnipiac's Div. I history to tally 100+ steals in a season, becoming the first to do so since Felicia Barron ('13) totaled 119 thefts during the 2012-13 campaign
- DeWees has totaled 237 career steals, ranking third in the program's Div. I history
- DeWees became the 16th player in Quinnipiac's Div. I history to reach 1,000 career points on March 9, 2022 and currently sits in 16th with 1,039 points
- Graduate student Rose Caverly opted to return to Quinnipiac for a fifth season over the summer
- Caverly's 14 assists and 4.7 assists per game both ranks third in the MAAC
- Her 2.3 assist-to-turnover ratio ranks second in the MAAC
- Entering the 2022-23 campaign, Caverly was named to the preseason All-MAAC Third Team
- She averaged 8.8 points, 3.8 assists and 3.3 rebounds per game in 2021-22 and shot 35.8% from beyond the arc and 79.7% from the charity stripe
- Caverly's 1.9 assist-to-turnover ratio ranked second in the MAAC last season
- She totaled 126 assists in 2021-22, becoming the first player in program-history to tally at least 100 assists in back-to-back seasons since Gillian "Boo" Abshire did so for four consecutive seasons from 2011-2015
- Caverly averaged 22.0 points per game, while shooting 48.0% from the field and 56.3% from beyond the arc in two games during the 2022 WNIT
- She scored 18 points and grabbed six rebounds in win over URI in WNIT opening round on March 18, 2022
- Caverly Scored career-high 26 points and tied program-record for most made three-pointers in a game (6) against URI in the second round of the WNIT on March 21, 2022
- Entering the 2022-23 campaign, Mikala Morris was named to the preseason All-MAAC First Team
- Morris is averaging 8.3 points, 7.3 rebounds and 1.3 steals per game through three contests
- Her 7.3 rebounds per game is tied for fifth in the conference
- In the home-opener against CCSU on Nov. 12, Morris totaled 16 points, four rebounds, three steals and a block in the victory
- With 118 career blocks, Morris ranks seventh on the program's Div. I blocks list
- Last season she averaged 11.7 points, 9.5 rebounds, 1.7 assists and 1.6 blocks per game en route to earning All-MAAC Second Team honors
- The league's leader in double-doubles (13), Morris also finished the season ranked 9th in the MAAC in total points (386), first in blocked shots (53), and second in rebounds (315)
- With 315 rebounds, Morris became just the fourth player in the program's Div. I history to grab 300+ rebounds in a season
- With 315 rebounds and 53 blocks in 2021-22, Morris is the only player in Quinnipiac's Div. I history to grab 300+ rebounds and tally 50+ blocks in a season
- Through the first three games of the season, Cur'Tiera Haywood leads the Bobcats in scoring at 13.7 ppg
- She led the Bobcats with 13 points and added five rebounds in the win over Hartford (11/14)
- Haywood tallied 20 points, six rebounds, and four assists in a win over CCSU (11/12)
- Last season Haywood appeared in 27 games and averaged a career-high 8.1 points per game
- Last season Haywood shot 48.7% from the field and 35.3% from three, which ranked third and sixth in the MAAC
- She scored a career-high 31 points in a win over St. Peter's on Jan. 13, 2022
- Haywood is the first Bobcat to score 30+ points in a game since Jen Fay tallied 32 against Manhattan on Dec. 31, 2017

- Jackie Grisdale returns for her sophomore campaign after averaging 4.7 points and 1.6 rebounds per game en route to earning MAAC All-Rookie Team honors in 2021-22
- Grisdale is averaging 9.0 points per game, while shooting 45.8% from the floor
- She led the Bobcats with 13 points in the win over Hartford (11/14)
- Earning MAAC All-Rookie Team honors, Jackie Grisdale became the first player in program history to earn all-conference honors as a walk-on
- Grisdale emerged as a consistent threat for the Bobcats, as she averaged 7.1 points per game, while shooting 45.8% from the field, 41.3% from three and 92.3% from the charity stripe over her last 16 regular season games played in 2021-22
- Grisdale scored a career-high 26 points off the bench in QU's 26-point comeback victory over Niagara on Jan. 29
- Grisdale scored 23 of her 26 points in the second half
- She knocked down six three-pointers in the contest, tying the single-game program record
- Graduate student Mary Baskerville announced that she would be transferring from Providence to Quinnipiac this past summer
- Baskerville is averaging 9.0 points, 5.0 rebounds and 1.3 blocks per game through three games with Quinnipiac
- She is shooting an efficient 92.9% (13-for-14) from the floor
- Baskerville totaled 11 points on 5-for-6 shooting and added six rebounds in 12 minutes against Hartford on Nov. 14
- She notched 12 points on 6-for-6 shooting and contributed seven rebounds in just 14 minutes of action off the bench in a win over CCSU on Nov. 12
- In her Quinnipiac debut at No. 10 NC State, she totaled four points and three blocks
- Baskerville graduated from Providence in 2022 with 1,077 points, 723 rebounds and 183 blocked shots
- Baskerville earned All-BIG EAST Second Team honors as a junior in 2020-21
- That season she led the team in scoring (12.7 ppg), rebounding (6.5 rpg), blocked shots (1.8 bpg), steals (1.4 spg) and field-goal percentage (.538)
- Her 1.8 blocks per game that season was tops in the conference for the second-straight year
- As a sophomore in 2020-21, she ranked first on the team in scoring (11.8 ppg), rebounding (7.6 rpg), blocked shots (1.8 bpg) and field-goal percentage (.516) as a sophomore in 2019-20
- Baskerville ranked first in the BIG EAST and 49th in the nation in blocked shots per game (1.82) and third in the BIG EAST in overall blocks (51)
- Baskerville was named the 2019 BIG EAST Rookie of the Year at the conclusion of the 2018-19 campaign
- That season she led the Friars in rebounding (7.3 rpg), blocked shots (1.5 bpg), double-doubles (six) and field-goal percentage (.580)
- Her .580 field-goal percentage was the second-highest field-goal percentage in program history for a single-season
- Baskerville set the Providence College record for blocked shots in a season by a freshman, with 53
- Head coach Tricia Fabbri added first-year guard/forward Ella O'Donnell to the roster prior to the 2022-23 season
- A native of Shankill, Ireland, O'Donnell is a member of the Irish women's basketball national team
- In three games, O'Donnell is averaging 7.7 points, 2.3 rebounds, 1.3 assists and 1.3 steals per game off the bench
- She tallied 10 points and added four rebounds and a career-high three steals in a win over Hartford on Nov. 14
- O'Donnell scored a career-high 10 points off the bench in a victory over CCSU on Nov. 12
- She made her Irish senior women's national team debut at 18 in 2022
- O'Donnell served as vice captain with Ireland u18 team at European championships in Czech Republic
- She played with Ireland u20 team at European championships in Hungary
- O'Donnell led Rathdown to three Dublin school league winners titles (2017, 2018, 2019)
- The Quinnipiac women's basketball team came in at No. 12 this week in the Women's Mid-Major Top 25 rankings, earning 431 points, as announced by the College Insider committee
- The only team in the MAAC ranked in the poll, Quinnipiac's schedule has the Bobcats set to face five schools who are ranked or receiving votes in the College Insider preseason mid-major poll
- The Bobcats will take on Kent State and Lehigh in the Christmas City Classic (Nov. 26-27), before playing host to Yale (Dec. 7), as well as taking on Fairfield and Manhattan twice in conference play
- Quinnipiac women's basketball was picked to finish first in the MAAC as announced by the conference office on Oct. 18, during the 2022-23 Basketball Preseason Awards Show on ESPN3
- The Bobcats were tabbed No. 1 in the MAAC Preseason Coaches' Poll, earning 117 total points and eight first place votes
- Trailing Quinnipiac in second was Manhattan with 112 points (3), followed by Niagara at 94 votes and reigning MAAC Tournament champions Fairfield with 74 points
- Three Bobcats earned All-MAAC preseason honors in Mackenzie DeWees (First Team, *unanimous), Mikala Morris (First Team) and Rose Caverly (Third Team)

- M&T Bank Arena, home of the Quinnipiac Bobcats, has long been one of the most difficult arenas to play at in the country. Since the 2012-13 season, Quinnipiac owns a record of 115-24 (.827) in games played at home
- In that same span, the Bobcats own a mark of 83-13 (.865) in conference play (NEC & MAAC) at home
- Quinnipiac owns a 104-45 (.697) mark since November 22, 2017
- The Bobcats stand with a mark of 74-13 (.850) at home in league games since joining the MAAC in 2013-14
- The Bobcats are 67-10 (.870) at M&T Bank Arena in conference games since the start of the 2014-15 campaign
- Since the start of the 2014-15 campaign the Bobcats are 112-36 (.756) in games where they score at least 70 points
- During 2017-18 (20-0), 2016-17 (16-0), 2012-13 (18-0) and 2010-11 (8-0), the Bobcats compiled undefeated records in each respective season when reaching the 70-point scoring plateau
- Quinnipiac has enjoyed a great deal of success over the past four seasons when building a first half lead. After starting 2016-17 with a mark of 2-0 when owning a halftime lead, the Bobcats saw one of their most impressive streaks in program history come to an end in a 71-68 loss at Temple
- The undefeated streak, which lasted over the course of three seasons, came to an end at 46 straight wins for the Bobcats when holding a halftime lead.
- Quinnipiac went undefeated in both 2014-15 (24-0) and 2015-16 (19-0) and for the first two games of 2016-17 before suffering the defeat.
- Overall, the Bobcats own a mark of 140-12 (.921) since the start of 2014-15 in games in which Quinnipiac leads at the half
- Quinnipiac will be back in action on Saturday, Nov. 26, when the Bobcats travel to Bethlehem, Pennsylvania to open the Christmas City Classic against Kent State
