HAMDEN, Conn. – Following its win in the home-opener this past Saturday, the Quinnipiac women's basketball team returns to action on Monday. The Bobcats play host to Hartford inside of M&T Bank Arena at 6 p.m. on ESPN+.
THE MATCHUP: vs. HARTFORD
- The Hawks enter the contest at 0-1 on the new campaign, after falling short in its opener, 70-54, this past Saturday against LIU
- Irene Primo led Hartford with 14 points, four assists, two rebounds and two steals
- Elena Houghton contributed 10 points and 11 rebounds in the contest for the first double-double of her collegiate career
- Monday's contest will mark the 12th contest between the two programs in their Div. I history
- Quinnipiac is 9-3 all-time against Hartford and 8-3 in its Div. I era
- Quinnipiac has won each of the last six contests against Hartford, dating back to 2013
- The last time the Bobcats took the Hawks, Quinnipiac set its single-game Div. I program-record for points in a 113-64 victory on Nov. 28, 2021
- The 49-point win marked the Div. I program record for largest scoring margin in a victory
- The Bobcats tied the program-record for most made three-pointers in a game, knocking down 16 three-pointers in the win
- 12 different players scored for the Bobcats in the win, with five reaching double-figure point totals
- QU assistant coach Bill Sullivan takes on Hartford, a program he once called home, for the first time as a member of the Bobcats' bench
- Sullivan joined the Hartford staff prior to the 2000-01 season and helped turn the Hawks into a powerhouse in the America East
- During his tenure, Hartford won four America East regular-season titles and five conference tournament championships, advancing to the postseason 10 times, including six NCAA Tournament appearances, with first-round wins in 2006 and 2008
- With Coach Sullivan on the sidelines, the Hawks won more than 300 games, posted seven 20-win seasons and garnered the program's first-ever top-25 ranking, climbing as high as No. 19 in 2010

- Led by an efficient 20-point effort from senior Cur'Tiera Haywood, Quinnipiac women's basketball downed CCSU, 72-54, in the 2022-23 home opener inside of M&T Bank Arena
- Quinnipiac received a balanced scoring attack as it had four student-athletes finish in double-figures, as Haywood led all scorers with a game-high 20 points
- Senior forward Mikala Morris finished with 16 points
- Graduate student forward Mary Baskerville totaled 12 points and first-year forward Ella O'Donnell recorded 10 points in her second game as a Bobcat
- Head coach Tricia Fabbri is in her 28th season at the helm of the Bobcats in 2022-23
- A five-time Coach of the Year (three in nine MAAC seasons) and all-time winningest coach in program history, Fabbri has totaled 483 career victories, thus far
- Of her 483 wins, 468 have come in Quinnipiac's Div. I era
- With a 21-12 record last season, Fabbri secured the program's 11th-straight winning season under her guidance

- Sophomore guard and Raleigh-native Reiven Douglas made her first collegiate start against her hometown team, #10 NC State, this past Monday
- A graduate of nearby Millbrook High School, Douglas knocked down a three-pointer and grabbed a rebound in the contest
- Graduate student Mackenzie DeWees opted to return to Quinnipiac for a fifth season over the summer
- Entering the 2022-23 campaign, DeWees was named to the preseason watch list for the 2023 Becky Hammon Mid-Major Player of the Year Award presented by Her Hoop Stats
- DeWees was also a unanimous preseason All-MAAC First Team selection
- Last season DeWees garnered All-MAAC First Team honors for the second time in her career, becoming the second player in program-history to do so behind Aryn McClure ('19)
- Averaged 13.8 points, 7.3 rebounds, 3.3 steals and 3.1 assists per game in 2021-22
- Was one of only two players in the country to average at least 13.0 points, 7.0 rebounds. 3.0 assists and 3.0 steals per game last season
- DeWees' 105 total steals and 3.4 steals per game places her fourth in the nation in both categories, respectively
- She's tallied five or more steals in nine of Quinnipiac's games, most recently tallying five thefts against Marist on Feb. 24
- Tallied 106 steals and averaged 3.31 steals per game, which ranked fourth and fifth in the nation
- DeWees was just the second player in Quinnipiac's Div. I history to tally 100+ steals in a season, becoming the first to do so since Felicia Barron ('13) totaled 119 thefts during the 2012-13 campaign
- DeWees has totaled 237 career steals, ranking third in the program's Div. I history
- DeWees became the 16th player in Quinnipiac's Div. I history to reach 1,000 career points on March 9, 2022 and currently sits in 16th with 1,039 points
- Graduate student Rose Caverly opted to return to Quinnipiac for a fifth season over the summer
- Entering the 2022-23 campaign, Caverly was named to the preseason All-MAAC Third Team
- She averaged 8.8 points, 3.8 assists and 3.3 rebounds per game in 2021-22 and shot 35.8% from beyond the arc and 79.7% from the charity stripe
- Caverly's 1.9 assist-to-turnover ratio ranked second in the MAAC last season
- She totaled 126 assists in 2021-22, becoming the first player in program-history to tally at least 100 assists in back-to-back seasons since Gillian "Boo" Abshire did so for four consecutive seasons from 2011-2015
- Caverly averaged 22.0 points per game, while shooting 48.0% from the field and 56.3% from beyond the arc in two games during the 2022 WNIT
- She scored 18 points and grabbed six rebounds in win over URI in WNIT opening round (3/18/22)
- Caverly Scored career-high 26 points and tied program-record for most made three-pointers in a game (6) against URI in the second round of the WNIT (3/21/22)

MAGNIFICENT MORRIS
- Entering the 2022-23 campaign, Mikala Morris was named to the preseason All-MAAC First Team
- In the home-opener against CCSU (11/12), Morris totaled 16 points, four rebounds, three steals and a block in the victory
- With 118 career blocks, Morris ranks seventh on the program's Div. I blocks list
- Last season she averaged 11.7 points, 9.5 rebounds, 1.7 assists and 1.6 blocks per game en route to earning All-MAAC Second Team honors
- The league's leader in double-doubles (13), Morris also finished the season ranked 9th in the MAAC in total points (386), first in blocked shots (53), and second in rebounds (315)
- With 315 rebounds, Morris became just the fourth player in the program's Div. I history to grab 300+ rebounds in a season
- With 315 rebounds and 53 blocks in 2021-22, Morris is the only player in Quinnipiac's Div. I history to grab 300+ rebounds and tally 50+ blocks in a season
- Through the first two games of the season, Cur'Tiera Haywood leads the Bobcats in scoring at 14.0 ppg
- Haywood tallied 20 points, six rebounds, and four assists in a win over CCSU (11/12)
- Last season Haywood appeared in 27 games and averaged a career-high 8.1 points per game
- Last season Haywood shot 48.7% from the field and 35.3% from three, which ranked third and sixth in the MAAC
- She scored a career-high 31 points in a win over St. Peter's on Jan. 13, 2022
- Haywood is the first Bobcat to score 30+ points in a game since Jen Fay tallied 32 against Manhattan on Dec. 31, 2017
- Jackie Grisdale returns for her sophomore campaign after averaging 4.7 points and 1.6 rebounds per game en route to earning MAAC All-Rookie Team honors in 2021-22
- Earning MAAC All-Rookie Team honors, Jackie Grisdale became the first player in program history to earn all-conference honors as a walk-on
- Grisdale emerged as a consistent threat for the Bobcats, as she averaged 7.1 points per game, while shooting 45.8% from the field, 41.3% from three and 92.3% from the charity stripe over her last 16 regular season games played in 2021-22
- Grisdale scored a career-high 26 points off the bench in QU's 26-point comeback victory over Niagara on Jan. 29
- Grisdale scored 23 of her 26 points in the second half
- She knocked down six three-pointers in the contest, tying the single-game program record
- Graduate student Mary Baskerville announced that she would be transferring from Providence to Quinnipiac this past summer
- Baskerville is averaging 8.0 points, 4.5 rebounds and 1.5 blocks per game through two games with Quinnipiac
- She notched 12 points on 6-for-6 shooting and contributed seven rebounds in just 14 minutes of action off the bench in a win over CCSU (11/12)
- In her Quinnipiac debut at No. 10 NC State, she totaled four points and three blocks
- Baskerville graduated from Providence in 2022 with 1,077 points, 723 rebounds and 183 blocked shots
- Baskerville earned All-BIG EAST Second Team honors as a junior in 2020-21
- That season she led the team in scoring (12.7 ppg), rebounding (6.5 rpg), blocked shots (1.8 bpg), steals (1.4 spg) and field-goal percentage (.538)

- The Quinnipiac women's basketball team enters the 2022-23 season ranked No. 8 in the Women's Mid-Major Top 25 rankings, earning 457 points, as announced by the College Insider committee
- The only team in the MAAC ranked in the poll, Quinnipiac's schedule has the Bobcats set to face five schools who are ranked or receiving votes in the College Insider preseason mid-major poll
- The Bobcats will take on Kent State and Lehigh in the Christmas City Classic (Nov. 26-27), before playing host to Yale (Dec. 7), as well as taking on Fairfield and Manhattan twice in conference play

- In that same span, the Bobcats own a mark of 83-13 (.865) in conference play (NEC & MAAC) at home
- Quinnipiac owns a 103-45 (.695) mark since November 22, 2017
- The Bobcats stand with a mark of 74-13 (.850) at home in league games since joining the MAAC in 2013-14

- Since the start of the 2014-15 campaign the Bobcats are 111-36 (.755) in games where they score at least 70 points
- During 2017-18 (20-0), 2016-17 (16-0), 2012-13 (18-0) and 2010-11 (8-0), the Bobcats compiled undefeated records in each respective season when reaching the 70-point scoring plateau
- Quinnipiac has enjoyed a great deal of success over the past four seasons when building a first half lead. After starting 2016-17 with a mark of 2-0 when owning a halftime lead, the Bobcats saw one of their most impressive streaks in program history come to an end in a 71-68 loss at Temple
- The undefeated streak, which lasted over the course of three seasons, came to an end at 46 straight wins for the Bobcats when holding a halftime lead.
- Quinnipiac went undefeated in both 2014-15 (24-0) and 2015-16 (19-0) and for the first two games of 2016-17 before suffering the defeat.
- Overall, the Bobcats own a mark of 139-12 (.927) since the start of 2014-15 in games in which Quinnipiac leads at the half
- Quinnipiac will be back in action on Sunday, Nov. 20, when the Bobcats travel to Bloomington, Indiana for a date with No. 11 Indiana
