Five Bobcats Reach Double-Figures in Dominant Win Over Hartford

HAMDEN, Conn. – It was a total team effort as the Quinnipiac women's basketball team set a new Div. I program-record for margin of victory, downing Hartford by 55 points in an 85-30 home victory Monday evening inside of M&T Bank Arena.
Quinnipiac received a balanced scoring attack as it had five student-athletes finish in double-figures. Cur'Tiera Haywood and Jackie Grisdale led all scorers with a game-high 13 points. Mary Baskerville added 11 points off the bench, while Ella O'Donnell and Rose Caso totaled 10 points apiece.
Hartford opened with the first basket of the game and that would be the only point Quinnipiac trailed in the contest. The Bobcats responded by outscoring the Hawks 23-6 the rest of the period, led by seven consecutive points from Baskerville to take a 23-8 lead into the second quarter. The Bobcats offense erupted in the second quarter, outscoring the Hawks 28-7 in the period. The Bobcats held the Hawks to 23% shooting in the quarter and was led in scoring by five points apiece from Rose Caverly and Caso, carrying a 51-15 lead into the break. Quinnipiac maintained its dominance in the third quarter, holding Hartford to six points on 15.4% shooting, stretching the lead to 74-21 entering the final frame. The deficit proved to be too much for the Hawks, as Quinnipiac held on for the 85-30 win.
