Bobcats to take on the Raiders, Big Red Friday and Saturday
HAMDEN, Conn. - The Quinnipiac women's ice hockey team is set to complete the first half of the season on Dec. 6-7, against Colgate and No. 4/4 Cornell at the People's United Center in Hamden, Conn. The Bobcats will take on the Colgate Raiders on Friday, Dec. 6 at 6 p.m. The Big Red will come to Hamden on Saturday, Dec. 7 for a 3 p.m. puck drop.

GAME NOTES
DIFD Game
Quinnipiac is set to host the team's annual Do It For Daron game on Saturday, Dec. 7 against Cornell. The DIFD organization aims to promote positive mental health and support those who suffer from the stigma of mental illness. The Bobcats will wear purple heart patches on their jerseys and the program encourages others to wear purple to the game. Donates will be accepted and all proceeds go towards mental health initiatives on Quinnipiac's campus.
Last Time Out
Quinnipiac won the program's 8th Nutmeg Classic Cup on Saturday, Nov. 30 after defeating the Yale Bulldogs, 3-1. The Bobcats took down No. 10/10 Minnesota Duluth the day before by a score of 4-2.
The Bobcats' first game of the 16th Annual Nutmeg Classic was played on Friday, Nov. 29 against the Minnesota Duluth Bulldogs. Sophomore Lexie Adzija opened the scoring with a power play goal in the first period from senior Kenzie Prater and first-year Kate Reilly. The Bulldogs would tie the game two minutes later after a goal from Jalyn Elmes. Quinnipiac scored three more goals to secure a 4-1 lead halfway through the third period. Junior Renee Saltness scored off a turnover at the blue line, and senior Sarah-Eve Coutu-Godbout tallied the eventual game-winner. In the third period, Adzija scored again and ended the day with three points. The Bulldogs would score once more, but the Bobcats held on to the 4-2 victory.
In the 2019 Nutmeg Championship game, the Yale Bulldogs got on the board early in the first period after a goal from Grace Lee. Coutu-Godbout would tie the game for Quinnipiac in the second period, and junior Brooke Bonsteel would add one more for the Bobcats to give the home team a 2-1 lead. Bonsteel tallied her second goal of the day with an empty-net goal late in the third period to secure the 3-1 win for the Bobcats and the program's 8th Nutmeg Championship.
Scouting Colgate
The Raiders hold a 9-6-3 overall record and a 3-2-1 conference record. Since the Bobcats and Raiders last met on Nov. 2, Colgate has gone 3-2-2, recording ECAC wins against Brown and Yale. On offense, the Raiders are led by Danielle Serdachny, who has 12 points on five goals and seven assists. Five Raiders have double-digit points so far this season. Liz Auby has played in 17 games in the net for the Raiders and has recorded a .938 save percentage and 1.58 goals against average. In ECAC games, the Raiders have allowed just 1.00 goals per game, which is the second-best in the conference.
Last Time Against the Raiders
On Nov. 2, the Bobcats traveled to Hamilton, N.Y., to take on the Raiders. Quinnipiac jumped to an early 2-0 lead, but the Raiders scored four unanswered goals and won 4-2. Quinnipiac has an all-time record of 13-18-5 against Colgate.
Scouting #4/4 Cornell
The Big Red will come to Quinnipiac for the second meeting of the season with a 9-1-1 overall record and 5-0-1 ECAC record. Cornell is led by Jamie Bourbonnais, who has 18 points this year on two goals and 16 assists. The Big Red's defense has allowed just four goals against in conference play, which is the lowest in the ECAC. In the net for Cornell, Lindsay Browning has played in 11 games and had tallied a .967 save percentage with a 0.75 goals against average, which leads the nation.
Invincible Ives
Senior netminder Abbie Ives has led the Bobcats to a 3-0-1 record over the last four games. She tallied her third shutout of the year against St. Lawrence, followed by a career-high 42 saves vs No. 10 Minnesota Duluth. In the Nutmeg Classic, she stopped 76 of 79 shots faced and earned a spot on the All-Tournament Team. She was also named the tournament's most outstanding player. In addition, Ives was named ECAC Hockey's MAC Goaltending Goalie of the Week for the second week in a row. The Bedford Hills native was also named an NCAA Start of the Week in back-to-back weeks.
Adzija on Fire
Sophomore Lexie Adzija finished the month of November with a bang. The sophomore tallied three points against Minnesota Duluth in the Bobcats' 4-2 win. Adzija leads the team with 16 points on seven goals and nine assists, which is tied for eighth-best in the conference. Of the 10 games that Quinnipiac played in November, she tallied at least one point in seven games. She also earned a spot on the Nutmeg Classic's All-Tournament Team.
Coutu-Godbout on a Roll
Senior Sarah-Eve Coutu-Godbout has recorded eight goals and three assists for 11 points this season, which is second on the team. Coutu-Godbout had recorded a goal or an assist in six of the last seven games for Quinnipiac.
Work, Work, Work
The Bobcats have outscored opponents in the last four games, 14-5, and have recorded a 3-0-1 record. Quinnipiac's 4-2 win over No. 10 Minnesota Duluth was the team's first victory against a ranked opponent since Nov. 2017. Since Nov. 15, the Bobcats are 4-1-1 and have outscored opponents 20-9.
Dominant Defensive Core
Quinnipiac's defensive core has allowed 28 goals this season, averaging 1.65 goals against per game, which is ranked sixth in the country. Senior Kenzie Prater leads the team with 30 blocks, followed by Reilly with 23.
