The No. 6/6 Quinnipiac men's ice hockey team is back home for the final non-conference game of the 2018-19 season Tuesday night as the Bobcats host the Holy Cross Crusaders with puck drop set for 7 p.m.
Last Time Out
Quinnipiac picked up its first-ever win against Boston University Saturday night, a 4-3 victory won on Brandon Fortunato's game-winning goal with just 2.5 seconds to go in the regulation. The Bobcats had taken 2-0 and 3-2 leads in the game, but the Terriers fought back before the Bobcats struck for the final time in the waning seconds of the game.
Scouting Holy Cross
The Crusaders come into Tuesday night's game with a 4-14-3 record overall and 4-10-2 mark in Atlantic Hockey. Holy Cross lost back-to-back games against American International following a three-game unbeaten streak. The Crusaders are 3-4-1 in their last eight games following a 1-11-2 start to the season. Holy Cross is led by Johnny Coughlin with six goals, 11 assists and 17 points on the season. Five active players for the Crusaders have recorded double-digit points this season and four players have at least five goals this season. The Crusaders have struggled defensively with a 3.34 GAA, including freshmen goaltender Erik Gordon's 3-12-3 record, 3.09 GAA and .893 save percentage.
All-Time vs. Holy Cross
Quinnipiac has dominated the all-time series between the two programs, sporting a 23-5-4 record in 32 games. The Bobcats are unbeaten against the Crusaders in the last nine games dating back to 2005. The last time these two teams met, came during the 2015-16 season when the Bobcats opened the year with a home-and-home sweep of the Crusaders.
Weekly Honors
The Bobcats once again received recognition in the ECAC Hockey Weekly Awards as Brandon Fortunato was named the league's Player of the Week for the first time in his career. Fortunato is the third Quinnipiac player to earn the league's player of the week and is the eighth different player to receive a weekly award this season, both good for the most in ECAC Hockey.
National Polls
Quinnipiac moved back into No. 6 in both national polls released Monday, marking the seventh straight week the Bobcats have been ranked in the Top 10 of the nation. The Bobcats received 724 points in the USCHO.com Division I Men's Poll and 335 points in the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine Men's College Hockey Poll.

Senior captain Chase Priskie has been nominated for the 2019 Hobey Baker Award, presented annually to the top player in the nation. Priskie is among the nation's best in numerous areas and highlights a strong core of players in the region like UMass' Cale Makar on the ballot. Priskie is one of 81 players nominated and one of 13 from ECAC Hockey
QU Hobey Baker History
Since the inception of the Hobey Baker Award in 1981, two Quinnipiac men's ice hockey players have reached the Top 10 and one reached the Hobey Hat Trick. Reid Cashman '07 became the first player in program history to be a top 10 finalist for the award in 2005. Following Cashman, former goaltender Eric Hartzell '13 also was a top 10 finalist before he reached the Hobey Baker Hat Trick as a top three finalist. That season, Quinnipiac reached the national championship game but fell to Yale.
Priskie Business
Priskie is on the cusp of one of the best seasons in program history as he is tied for first in the nation with eight power-play goals, 16 power-play points and five game-winning goals, fourth in the nation with 13 goals and sixth with 27 points. He ranks first in the nation among defensemen in each of those categories while being a part of a Quinnipiac defense that allows among the fewest goals per game 1.86. With his two points on the weekend, Priskie recorded a career-high with 27 points this season.
Priskie Power
After recording the 100th point of his career on Dec. 29, Priskie continues to put home the points as he had a goal and an assist against Dartmouth. He now has 35 career goals, which is just three back from tying the program record for goals by a defensemen. Priskie is also second in program history with 105 points and his 70 assists are fourth. Nationally, Priskie leads all defensemen with 105 career points.
