Bobcats Extend Winning Streak to Four Games to Open 2018-19 Season
SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – Craig Martin (Trail, British Columbia) scored a pair of goals Friday night and Andrew Shortridge (Anchorage, Alaska) tallied 22 saves in his first start of the season as the No. 15/20 Quinnipiac men's ice hockey team took down the AIC Yellow Jackets, 4-1.
The Bobcats extended their winning streak to four games to open up the season, it's longest winning streak since winning five straight towards the end of the 2016-17 season.
Chase Priskie (Pembroke Pines, Florida) scored a five-on-three power-play goal for a second straight game and added an assist for two points while Odeen Tufto (Chaska, Minnesota) also registered a pair of assists to help power the Bobcats offense.

- (12:07, 1st period) – Quinnipiac 2, AIC 0: For the second time in as many games, Priskie blasted home a five-on-three power-play goal to double the Bobcats lead. He received a pass from Tufto on the left wing before shifting in down to Brandon Fortunato (North Hills, New York) on his right before firing home the goal.
- (4:28, 2nd period) – Quinnipiac 2, AIC 1: The Yellow Jackets got a goal back early in the second period as Shawn McBride corralled a shot from Nicholas Luka off the end boards and tapped it home past Shortridge
- (9:46, 3rd period) – Quinnipiac 3, AIC 1: Nick Jermain (Norwalk, Connecticut) found the back of the net for the first time as he waited on the back door for a centering feed across the slot from Tufto
- (18:38, 3rd period) – Quinnipiac 4, AIC 1: Martin took a pass from William Fällström (Stockholm, Sweden) in the defensive zone and skated up to the red line before burying the empty-netter to put away the game
- Martin recorded the second multi-goal game of his career and 11th multi-point game with a pair of goals Friday night
- It was his first multi-goal game since March 11, 2017 against St. Lawrence in the ECAC Hockey Quarterfinals
- Martin also picked up his 50th career point with his pair of goals and played in the 100th game of his career
- Priskie picked up his first two-point game of the season and 15th such game of his career
- He has five-on-three power-play goals in back-to-back games and took over the team lead with three goals on the season
- Priskie now has 25 career goals as he inches closer to the Division I program record of 28 held by Dan Ennis '03
- Shortridge was stellar between the pipes in his first start of the season as he turned away 22 of 23 shots for his first win
- Jermain scored his first goal of the season for his 10th career goal
- With goals from Jermain and Martin, seven different Bobcats have registered goals in the first four games
- Tufto continued his impressive start to the season with his first multi-assist game of the season and now has points in three of the first four games
- Tufto's multiple-assist performance was his 11th such game and 16th career multiple-point game
- Fortunato picked up a point for a third night this season as he assisted Priskie's five-on-three power-play goal for a second straight game
- Fällström recorded his second assist of the season and fourth point with his helper on the empty netter.
- Rand Pecknold won his 489th career game as he has his sights set on his 500th career win
- The Bobcats wrap up the home-and-home series with the Yellow Jackets Saturday night at Frank Perrotti Jr. Arena at People's United Center with puck drop set for 7 p.m.
