HAMDEN, Conn. - Sophomore Kaleigh Oates (Downington, Pa.) and freshman Morgan Sherwin (Coplay, Pa.) each had a career high 16 kills to lead the Quinnipiac volleyball team to a 3-1 home win over Manhattan on Sunday afternoon at Burt Kahn Court.

MATCH NOTES

Sophomore Kaleigh Oates (Downington, Pa.) had her career high of 16 kills on 26 attempts with no errors for a .615 hitting percentage.
Sherwin added a career-high seven blocks to go with her 16 kills
The first two sets both went to extra points, with Quinnipiac taking the first one 27-25 and Manhattan pulling even with a 28-26 win in the second.
After intermission, Quinnipiac dominated the third set 25-15 to take control of the match again.
The fourth set saw the Bobcats close out on a 3-0 run after Manhattan pulled within 22-20. Oates had kills on two of the points, including the one to clinch it.
Oates was 4-for-4 on attacks in the first set, including kills to give the Bobcats leads of 25-24 and 26-25, before a Manhattan attack error gave the Bobcats a 1-0 lead in the match.
Quinnipiac had a 21-15 lead in the second set and had four set points, but could not convert as Manhattan came back for a 28-26 win on a Sandra Lozanova kill
The Bobcats took control of the third set with a 7-2 run that turned an 8-6 lead into a 15-8 advantage. Sherwin had three kills during the run.
Quinnipiac trailed for most of the fourth set, until a 4-0 run gave it a 19-16 lead, capped off by a Sherwin kill.
Sophomore outside hitter Natalie Alechko (Old Tappan, N.J.) was one dig shy of a double double with 10 kills and nine digs.
The Bobcats swept the season series from Manhattan for the first time.
