SCORING SUMMARY
- 3:23, 2nd (UVM 1, QU 0): Liam Coughlin picked up a loose pick along the boards in Quinnipiac offensive zone, stepped into the face-off circle and sent a shot on net. The puck snuck under Bobcats' goalie Andrew Shortridge's (Anchorage, Alaska) arm and trickled past the goal line to give the Catamounts a 1-0 lead.
- 3:58, 2nd (QU 1, UVM 1): Odeon Tufto's first career goal came thirty-five seconds after UVM's tally to tie the game at 1-1. Tanner MacMaster fed Kevin McKernan (Millbury, Massachusetts) at the point who blasted a shot on UVM goalie Stefanos Lekkas. The rebound bounced out into the slot where Tufto was waiting to punch it past the Catamounts' goalie for the equalizer.
- 19:04, 2nd (QU 2, UVM 1): With less than a minute to play in the second period, MacMaster won a battle for a loose puck in the corner to Lekkas' left, stepped between several Vermont players and rifled a shot on goal. The puck beat Lekkas five-hole to put Quinnipiac on top, 2-1.
- 11:33, 3rd (QU 2, UVM 2): Vermont's Craig Puffer tied the game at 2-2 with just-under nine minutes to play in regulation. Alex Esposito fired a shot on goal that Shortridge steered away. Puffer dove across the crease and tipped the loose puck on goal to tie it late.
- 2:33, OT (QU 3, UVM 2): Tufto scored the overtime game-winner for his second goal of the night off a rebound on a shot from the point by Brogan Rafferty. MacMaster picked up his third point of the night with the secondary assist on the goal.
- Odeon Tufto (Chaska, Minnesota) became the first Quinnipiac freshman to score a goal this season, and also gave him a three-game point streak after assists in Quinnipiac's opening weekend tie at Boston College and home-opener against Boston University.
- The last Quinnipiac player to start their career with a three-game point streak was current Quinnipiac captain Chase Priskie (Pembroke Pines, Florida), who tallied a point in the first six games of his career.
- Tufto's second goal made him the first freshman since Nick Jermain against Yale on Feb. 4, 2017 to score twice in a game.
- The last time a freshman scored the game-winning goal in overtime was Ben Nelson against Army in a 5-4 win on Jan. 28, 2005.
- Tanner MacMaster (Calgary, Alberta) gave Quinnipiac its first multiple-point game of the season with an assist on Tufto's goal before scoring his first of the season late in the second period. MacMaster scored a career-best eight goals last season and now has 18 for his career, good for third among active scorers for the Bobcats.
- Landon Smith (Greenwood Village, Colorado) had the Bobcats' last three-point game with a hat trick against Dartmouth on Nov. 11, 2016.
