ON THE ROAD TO RHODY
The Quinnipiac men's soccer team travels to Rhode Island on Saturday, September 12th for a matchup with the URI Rams. In search of their first win of 2015, the Bobcats will meet the Rams at 7 p.m. from the URI Soccer Complex in Kingston.
SCOUTING THE RAMS
Rhode Island is 2-2 overall on the year and 2-1 at the URI Soccer Complex. The Rams secured wins over Drexel and Bryant while dropping games to both Albany and Providence. In their last game, URI suffered a 1-0 loss to the Providence Friars in Kingston. Senior Adam Camillo and sophomore Carlo Davids lead the squad with four points apiece, each scoring a goal and adding two assists through four games. Rhode Island was picked to finish second in the Atlantic 10 Preseason Coaches' Poll.
ALL-TIME AGAINST RHODE ISLAND
Saturday's matchup will mark the fourth meeting between the teams with URI holding a 3-0 record all-time against Quinnipiac. In their last meeting, the Rams defeated the Bobcats, 2-1, at the URI Complex in 2005.
LAST TIME OUT
In their home opener last weekend, the Bobcats fell to Brown University, 2-0. After a scoreless first half, a red card led to Quinnipiac having to play a man down the rest of the way. The Bears took advantage of the extra man and scored twice in less than a minute due to multiple defensive miscues by the Bobcats.
CAREER HIGH
Against Brown, Henry registered a career high 12 saves in the loss. The Bobcat goalkeeper stopped five shots in the first half before tallying seven more in the second frame. He now 22 saves on the year to go along with a .880 save percentage.
LOOKING AHEAD
Quinnipiac will return home for their second game in Hamden on Wednesday, September 16th. The Bobcats will host Holy Cross at 4 p.m. from the QU Soccer Field. Last season, QU lost to the Crusaders, 2-1, in Worcester.
HENRY DOMINATES HUSKIES
Former UConn Husky, Triston Henry, was dominant against his former team. The junior transfer recorded his first career shutout with a couple huge diving stops in the latter stages of the game. Henry finished with six saves on the day.
SHUTOUTS GALORE
The shutout against Connecticut was the first of the year for the Bobcats through two games. Last season, Quinnipiac tallied nine shutouts in 19 games.
UNBEATEN STREAK SNAPPED
Quinnipiac lost their first game in nearly one year against Boston College. The Bobcats finished the 2014 season with 13 straight games without a loss. QU's last defeat came at the hands of Holy Cross on September 17, 2014.
FRESH FACES
Three Bobcats made their first career starts for Quinnipiac in the season opener. Junior goalkeeper Triston Henry, freshman midfielder Oscar Evans, and freshman forward Rashawn Dally all made their debuts in the starting lineup.
FIRST GAME JITTERS
The Bobcats have now lost their season opener for the sixth consecutive year. The last time they did not fall in the first game came on September 5, 2009 in a 1-1 tie against Yale.

The Bobcats were selected second in the MAAC's preseason poll with Monmouth taking the top spot. In 2014, Quinnipiac went undefeated in the MAAC regular season earning the title of MAAC Regular Season Champions for the second year in a row. While Quinnipiac fell short in the MAAC Tournament, the 2015 squad will look to finish the mission this season as the Bobcats return 19 letter winners from last year.

DA COSTA VICTORY IS HIGH FOR BOBCATS
Quinnipiac's Eric Da Costa heads into the 2015 season with back-to-back regular season conference championships under his belt. Da Costa was recognized last season as the 2014 MAAC Coach of the year after leading the Bobcats to a 7-0-3 conference record. Now entering his eleventh season at the helm, Da Costa has helped Quinnipiac rise to the top of the MAAC in just two seasons.
THREE'S COMPANY
The Bobcats return three All-MAAC selections from last season's team, senior Tobias Esche, junior James Doig, and sophomoreShaquille Huggins. Esche returns to anchor the Quinnipiac defense which ranked second in GAA (0.56), and goals allowed (6), while also ranking third in shutouts (5). Doig earned his second All-MAAC honor after making the All-MAAC team as a freshman. As a sophomore Doig led Quinnipiac in assists (6) while adding ten points and two goals. Huggins earned a spot on the All-MAAC Rookie Team after for his strong play and being a key player in the Quinnipiac midfield offensive attack.
PRESEASON ALL-MAAC
Quinnipiac had two student-athletes selected to the with preseason honors. Both Esche and Doig were tabbed to repeat on the All-MAAC Team.
BIG SHOES TO FILL
Quinnipiac has big shoes to fill in the net after the two-time MAAC Goalkeeper of the yearBorja Angoitia finished his illustrious career last season. Junior Triston Henry will look to fill the void as the new goalkeeper for the Bobcats. Henry has an impressive track record with back-to-back National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Championships in 2012 and 2013 including a 2013 campaign where he only allowed four goals. With 29 shutouts at Herkimer County Community College, Henry earned NSCAA and NJCAA All-American honors in 2013.
