HAMDEN, Conn. — The Quinnipiac men's soccer program earned its first win of the 2026 campaign in thrilling fashion on Monday night, earning a come-from-behind, 3-2 victory over Providence to open its home season in winning fashion.

After scoring the game's opening goal, the Friars scored a pair of goals in 5:20 to take a 2- lead into the break.

Sixten Karlsson started the second half with a bang, scoring 59 seconds into the period to knot the proceedings at two.

After Remy Barone drew a foul in the box in the 82^nd minute and VAR confirmed the infraction, Taehyeon Lim slotted the kick from the spot into the bottom left corner to clinch the win.

It was a game full of offensive prowess, as both teams recorded 22 shots, with both goalies stifling multiple opportunities with first-year Alexander Hansen recording ten saves and the Providence keeper notching eight stops.

STATS AND NOTES

Hansen's 10 saves are tied for the second-most by a keeper in a game in this early campaign. He is one of two first-years to hit the mark.
They are also the most by a Bobcat keeper since Antreas Hadjigavriel had 10 against CCSU on Sept. 11, 2021.
Sixten Karlsson and Taehyeon Lim both notched their first collegiate goals in the win.
Lim has a point in both games to start the campaign.
Holum's goal is his eighth of his career and 20^th point of his Quinnipiac tenure.
The 22 shots for the Bobcats are the most since Sept. 16, 2025 against LIU.
Quinnipiac is undefeated in its last eight home openers, going 7-0-1.
The Bobcats have won four in a row at home, dating back to last season.
