Bobcats Dominate Chargers in West Haven

West Haven, Conn. – The Quinnipiac Bobcats came to play against the New Haven Chargers, defeating them by a final score of 13-0 in seven innings on Tuesday afternoon from Frank Vieira Field in West Haven, Connecticut. With the win, the Bobcats improved to 16-22 overall.
This marks Quinnipiac's second straight victory in seven innings, with its last mercy rule victory coming on Sunday at Canisius (12-2).

HOW IT HAPPENED
Quinnipiac got an immediate start in this contest, striking for five runs in the opening inning. Alex Irizarry got the Bobcats on the board, lacing a two-run double down the right field line, which scored Caden Williamson and Kyle Garbowski. Later in the inning, Jack Balcer came home to score as James Marino flew out to center field. Irizarry later came in to score as Ian Nilsen reached on an error by the third baseman. Chase Camac brought home QU's fifth run of the inning, reaching on an error by the first baseman, which scored Nilsen.
Chase Camac added another run for the Bobcats in the fourth inning as he singled on a bunt and allowed Brayden Hromada to cross the plate, making it a 6-0 game.
A seven-run sixth inning put the game out of reach as QU went up 13-0. With the bases loaded in the inning, Kyle Garbowski drew a walk, forcing Hromada to score the first run in the inning. Later in the inning, Christian Smith made it a nine-run lead for the Bobcats as he singled home Camac and Williamson. Alex Irizarry delivered again, this time with a two-run single down the right field line, making it an 11-0 game. Ian Nilsen brought home the final two runs of the contest as he tripled down the right field line to give Quinnipiac a 13-0 lead.
Maddex Labuda was solid in relief for the Bobcats as he pitched the final 5.0 innings, allowing five hits and striking out three to seal the seven-inning victory.
