Lawrence, Mass. - The Quinnipiac Bobcats will head on the road for the final MAAC series of the regular season as they look to secure a spot in the 2026 MAAC Baseball Championships. Quinnipiac will head to Massachusetts to take on the Merrimack Warriors in a three-game series.
The Bobcats and Warriors will kick off their series on Thursday, May 14th, with the first pitch slated for 7 PM from Greater Lawrence Tech. QU and Merrimack will battle in game two on Friday, May 15th, before closing out the regular season on Saturday, May 16th.

LAST TIME OUT
- The Quinnipiac Bobcats dropped a tough MAAC series at home to the Rider Broncs, two games to one.
- The Bobcats dropped the series opener by a final score of 9-3. The Bobcats and Broncs were locked into a 3-3 tie through seven innings of play before Rider put up a five-spot in the eighth inning to blow the game open.
- Quinnipiac bounced back with a big 9-4 win in the first game of the doubleheader on Friday. Chase Camac and Christian Smith both drove in two RBIs to help lead the Bobcats to a much-needed victory.
- In the series finale, the Broncs jumped out to an early 3-0 lead, and Clayton Poliey kept the Bobcats in check as Rider claimed the series with a 3-2 win.
HISTORY VS. MERRIMACK
- Thursday's matchup will mark the 6th time the Bobcats and Warriors will face off since March 2nd, 2024.
- The Bobcats lead the series 5-1.
- Quinnipiac and Merrimack met last season, and the Bobcats swept the Warriors in Hamden.

- The Merrimack Warriors enter the conference series with a 23-27 overall record and a 17-10 mark in conference play. Merrimack currently sits in fourth place in the MAAC standings and is looking to secure a spot in the MAAC Tournament field in the last series of the regular season.
- Merrimack currently has the seventh-highest batting average (.269) in the conference, and the most runs scored (355) this season. In conference play, the Warriors are hitting .277 in 28 contests, which ranks sixth in the league.
- The Merrimack pitching staff holds the league's seventh-lowest ERA (5.27) through conference play and the fifth-fewest runs allowed (152).
- The Warriors have won six of their nine MAAC series so far this season, defeating Niagara, Iona, Manhattan, Marist, Mount St. Mary's, and Saint Peter's, but falling to Canisius, Fairfield, and Sacred Heart.

PRESEASON ACCOLADES
- The Quinnipiac Baseball team was picked to finish 3rd in the MAAC Preseason Poll after last season ended in the MAAC Semifinal round against the Rider Broncs.
- Christian Smith was named to the Preseason All-MAAC team as he returns to Hamden.
- Smith finished the year with a .329 batting average in 56 contests. Smith tied for the team lead in home runs with 15 and led the Bobcats with 67 runs batted in.
- Smith had a tremendous MAAC Tournament last season, finishing the week with a .375 clip (6-for-16), while driving in nine runs in the five games in Pomona, earning him a nod on the All-Tournament team.
KEY RETURNERS
- The Bobcats return 19 players from last year's team, with of those players seeing game action.
- Of those returners, nine are pitchers: J.C. Franconere, Sam Wright, Griffin Seibel, Mike Poncini, Matt Alduino, Nick Balcom, Andrew Rubayo, Josh Lajoie, and Mason Ulsh.
- Ten position players return: Cole Constable, Kyle Garbowski, Sam Ametrano, Christian Smith, Alex Irizarry, Luke Zeisloft, James Marino, Matt Park, Ian Nilsen, and Christian Nilsen.
LOTS OF NEW FACES
- Quinnipiac welcomes 16 new faces to its campus this season.
- The Bobcats used the transfer portal to bring in sophomore right-handed pitcher Maddex Labuda (Liberty), junior outfield/first baseman Jack Balcer (Widener), senior right-handed pitcher James Pazdera, and graduate outfielder Brendan Edvardsen (AIC).
- Quinnipiac also brought in 12 first years, with six being pitchers and six being position players, Peyton Vancas (Pleasant Gap, Pa.), Timothy Park (Bridgewater, NJ.), Chase Camac (Northfield, NJ.), Caden Williamson (Broomfield, Co.), Teagan Beames (New Fairfield, Conn.), Brayden Hromada (Center Moriches, NY.), Joseph Hiller (Center Moriches, NY.), Kevin Rusinak (Manalapan, NJ.), Ethan Freed (Limerick, Pa.), Frank Orrei (Verona, NJ.), Langdon Hazen (Underhill, VT.), and Jacob Belecky (Komoka, Ontario, Canada).
