Bobcats Defeat Canisius on the Road

Buffalo, N.Y. – The Quinnipiac Bobcats started their Western New York trip the right way, defeating the Canisius Golden Griffins, 73-55, on Thursday night in Buffalo. With the win, the Bobcats cemented their spot in the 2026 MAAC Women's Basketball Championships in Atlantic City, New Jersey.
Anna Foley had a big day, leading the Bobcats in scoring with 16 points on 62% (8-for-13) shooting from the floor. Foley added eight rebounds, three assists, and three steals to her stat line in the win over Canisius. Karson Martin had another solid game for the Bobcats, finishing the night with 14 points, five rebounds, and five assists. Jackie Grisdale added 12 points in the win on 63% (5-for-8) shooting from the field and knocking down two three-pointers. Ella O'Donnell reached double figures once again, scoring ten in the win. Eight Bobcats recorded points in the 18-point win over the Golden Griffins.

GAME REWIND
The Bobcats and Golden Griffins played a low-scoring opening few minutes as Quinnipiac led just 6-4 at the media timeout. Out of the break, the Golden Griffins outscored the Bobcats 7-2 to finish the first quarter on top, 11-8.
Quinnipiac had quite the response, starting the second quarter on an 18-4 scoring run, led by Anna Foley and Karson Martin. After Canisius called a timeout, Canisius outscored the Bobcats 10-9 in the final four minutes, but Quinnipiac still held a solid lead, 35-25.
Canisius got on the board first in the second half, but the Bobcats quickly responded with an 11-3 scoring run as Quinnipiac led 46-31 at the third quarter media timeout. Quinnipiac kept its distance for the remainder of the quarter as it entered the final frame with a 54-36 win.
Quinnipiac scored the first seven points in the fourth quarter, forcing the Golden Griffins to call a timeout just under two minutes into the quarter. Karson Martin capped off the run with a three off a beautiful display of passing.
Out of the timeout, the Bobcats continued to build on their lead as they went up 70-41 at the final media timeout. Quinnipiac didn't allow the Golden Griffins get back in the contest as they defeated Canisius by 18.
