Eleven Bobcats Score in 44-Point Win Over Niagara

Niagara University, N.Y. – The Quinnipiac Bobcats dominated the Niagara Purple Eagles, 89-45, on Saturday afternoon to sweep the Western New York trip. With the win, the Bobcats secured their 14th 20-win season in the Division I era. Quinnipiac has won 20+ games in back-to-back seasons and four of the last five years.
Sydney Ryan had a big day for the Bobcats, leading them with 17 points on 63% (5-for-8) shooting from the floor. Ryan was one of three Bobcats who knocked down multiple three-point attempts in the win. Jackie Grisdale reached double figures in the win, scoring 14 points on 56% shooting from the field. Ella Ryan knocked down three of her six shots and finished the day with 13 points. Ella O'Donnell stuffed the stat sheet, finishing the day with 12 points, nine rebounds, five assists, and two steals. Eleven total Bobcats recorded points in the 44-point win over the Purple Eagles as Quinnipiac improved to 15-0 in MAAC play and 20-4 overall.

Quinnipiac continued to get their way in the opening quarter, starting on a 6-0 run and forcing Niagara to call an early timeout. Out of the break, Niagara got on the board, but Quinnipiac closed out the quarter on a 12-6 run as they took an 18-6 lead after the opening quarter.
Quinnipiac went on another run to start the second quarter, outscoring the Purple Eagles 7-2 in the first 3:16 of the second quarter and forcing Niagara to call another timeout. Out of the timeout, Niagara would outscore the Bobcats 12-9, but QU still held a 14-point lead (34-20) at the halftime break.
Jackie Grisdale got the Bobcats on the board first in the second half and ignited an early 9-2 run from QU as Niagara called another early timeout. Out of the timeout, Quinnipiac scored the next ten points and finished the quarter ahead by 33 (60-27).
The Bobcats continued to dominate in the final frame as Karson Martin put an exclamation point on the contest with a three-pointer to make it a 41-point game at the final timeout of the contest.Out of the final timeout, Quinnipiac closed out strong, defeating the Purple Eagles by 44 to win their 15th straight contest.
