MILAN, Italy — Former Quinnipiac men's ice hockey player and Stanley Cup Champion Devon Toews is representing Hockey Canada for the second time in as many seasons, following up on his 2025 4 Nations Title to compete in the 2026 Winter Olympics with his home country. The Abbotsford, British Columbia native played in all six games for the Canadians, finishing with one goal and two assists, as well as a plus-nine rating.
He scored his first Olympic goal against France, tallying the second goal for his team in a 10-2 win over the Frenchmen. He also added an assist in the quarterfinal game, the game-tying goal before they went on to win in overtime to advance to the medal around.
He became the third Bobcat to medal in a Winter Olympics stamped with Bobcat talent, joining fellow Canadian Kati Tabin in earning a silver medal on the ice with their respective hockey teams. Quinnipiac women's ice hockey assistant coach Brent Hill was on the other side of the gold medal contest, earning the win on the bench with Team USA. Current first-year forward Jade Barbirati was also competing in the Olympics, skating for France.
