Bobcats Split Day Two of Tournament, Earn First Win of 2026

A seven-run outburst in the seventh inning powered the Bobcats past the Aggies in the opener. Quinnipiac jumped ahead early, plating two runs in the first inning on an RBI single from Ally Hochstadter and a bases-loaded walk by Sofia Vega. UC Davis responded quickly, hitting back-to-back doubles and a triple in the bottom of the inning to take a 4-1 lead.
Natalia Apatiga cut into the deficit with an RBI double in the fifth, but the Aggies answered with a run of their own in the bottom half.
Trailing heading into the late innings, the Bobcats erupted offensively, recording a sacrifice fly and five RBI singles to comeback and secure a 12-5 victory.
In game two, UNLV scored eight runs across the second and third innings, highlighted by two two-run home runs. Quinnipiac's lone run came in the fourth inning when Hochstadter scored following an error by the Rebels' second baseman. UNLV added another run in the fifth to seal a 9-1 run-rule win.
Shannon Kendall started both games in the circle, pitching 9.2 total innings with four strikeouts. She earned her first collegiate win against UC Davis, pitching a complete seven innings.
